Selected User Reviews For Hollywood Racks Express Trunk Mounted Bike Rack

Investing in this rack was the best decision I could have made for my car The following is the most important thing you should read on this blog I came to the conclusion this rack would be the best possible choice for my car and my bike
5/5

There were no damages to either the car or the bike. A bolt never needed to be tightened, did not loosen en route. We don't wobble at all. The wheel does not The shake is non-existent, and the bounce is non-existent. The drive from Los Angeles to Reno was about 1440 miles The city of Austin in Texas has been hit by several It was blinding to some extent. There were 18 to 24 mph winds pushing around I am ahead of a group of wheelers. What matters isn't important. We won't have any problems. that you know what I'm talking about, let's get into some details. Moreover, I have also included some photos for the 1st time so you can see how I made small custom adjustments to fit the needs of my Bike-Auto combination. Following a thorough review of the comments here on all of the Bike Racks that I was considering, and a few trips to local bike shops in my area, I ended up choosing the one below from Amazon. This was a return that I had to wait for, but it arrived 2 days before my departure date, as Amazon promised. Rack had minor scuffs that did not matter, and there was no manual, so each of those factors did not apply. This is particularly important since the rack attachment is very easy to understand. The real challenge was securing this rack to my 2000 Saab 9-3. One of the first things I noticed was that each of the 1" nylon straps was quite It was very difficult for me to cut any of them short, although I had every intention to do so The rack was tilted to the approximate fit I thought would be approximate, and the top two pieces were placed The trunk has two feet at the bottom the bottom of the trunk has two feet The bumper was covered in feet. However, the bike didn't look right because the bars holding the bike were sloping downward. We wanted the bike to tilt into the car a bit so we readjusted the rack several times (without the bike), lifting the bicycle up every time until I achieved the desired angle. As part of this process, I decided to make two additional adjustments to my bike that proved vital to my success. It was removed and I put it back It has been removed from the post, as well as the It is inexpensive to buy a pedal wrench and it will help you to maintain the finish of the car. Read the comments about the distressed situation. In order to tighten the straps, I first set the frame to the correct configuration. These rubberized clamps are located on the top and bottom of the box I tightened them a bit more once the bottom of the trunk stopped sliding. The Bike was on when I tested and the screws were tightened further. It was easiest for me to center the rack on the car, then the bike on the rack. There was little overhang on each side of the car, but it was equal. The parking situation is not a cause for concern. One of the straps I did not understand was the very long strap between the 2 rings at the very top. did it have to do with that? When and how should it be used? In my opinion, there was no reason for it to be there. My decision to resign was a difficult one, but I am glad I did Because it had to be positioned, the bar was cut off at the top. My decision cost me time and energy to examine and I knew I could cut the strap from the bar without ruining had done that, I placed the strap around the lower bar of the rack below the license plate, and I found that to be the key to stability. I was able to pull together this bike-car combo into a strong, stable, and shock-resistant arrangement due to that move. As well as the velcro straps, a bungee cord, a heavy red cotton cloth between the bumper and Crank and a large cable, I added a large cable-type item between the bumper and the Crank. Lock in place through the chassis and through the tow hooks An underbody loop is used under the rear of a That's all I have to say. For your benefit, I have included photos to provide a little additional information. As a result of this experience, I am confident that you will be able to carry your bicycle(s) safely and comfortably With a little time and effort, you can customize the configuration of the bike-vehicle to keep overall wear and tear minimal. My six additions are not all correctly showing because some of them are sideways or upside down. I have added 6 photos. There is no way for me to change them, so you get them as you are and I hope this is okay for you. I wish you the best of.

The best value for your money It would be hard to add anything more to this
5/5

While on our vacation (900 miles round trip), we planned to bring three bikes with us. After reading all the reviews of all On Amazon and other websites, you can find bike racks. In terms of my Passat wagon, this appeared to be your best bet. One day before we left, we had 25 minutes to spare. As it took so long, I carefully wrapped up all the extra strap (which is highly adjustable) and attached it to the working part of the strap using The extra time was worth it, and this makes it easier to use on a different vehicle if necessary. Less than a minute after we arrived, all bikes were ready to ride.
Never once did I feel nervous about using Despite its flaws, it is a solid product. We don't have the most expensive bikes, but neither do we have department store bikes, and I wouldn't think of rolling the dice on them falling off the back of the car on the freeway at speed.

The task is not as simple as it seems

My 2014 Ford Fusion has a new MTB this year, so I needed a rack to accommodate it. There was no need to purchase the 1 bike rack holder since this one looked the best out of all This is, but it took some time on my part. To begin with, the hooks are metal, but are coated with a hard plastic that is a hard Although I was not worried about them scratching the paint, I was extremely concerned with how effective the hook would be. Likewise, the hooks underneath the strap could cause the strap to melt, and the muffler is right beside it. In addition, all the items on the bumper are plastic, so they would bend if they were bent My alternative was to construct an open trunk rack and open it.

I put the rack together and opened it. After that, I ran the top straps over the top of the lid and hooked them to the inside of the trunk's interior, hooking them to the inside of the top Later, I tightened the straps around the trunk and closed it. As soon as that was done, I popped the trunk just enough to run the bottom straps inside, then closed it again. Once the bottom straps are tightened, pull them tight. Perfect! The rack is firmly fastened to the trunk and must not move at all once the top straps are tightened. Since the foam supports are thick enough, there will be good contact with the surface so that it will not move. That is not how the rack is intended to be installed, but it works just fine. I drove 35 miles at 75 mph on the interstate the next day. If all went well, I was fine. However, I recommend getting reinforcements like Velcro straps or bungee cords to keep tires, wheels, pedals and other equipment in place. They're thick and sturdy, just like the rubber straps holding the bike to the frame. You may want to use the center strap in order to keep the bike level as you drive down the road in order to prevent the carriage from "floating. ". Just my opinion, but one other thing I would like to mention. With two bikes for street and two for mountain biking, that fits perfectly. But two mountain bikes? believe that it would be really hard, especially if it is a new model. The mounts for my 2015 Trek Superfly had to be moved to make it fit, and I don't think I'd be able to add another MTB.
