You could do 10 lbs but that would be quite full if you used a whole bag of rice. I have a 5 lb bag of rice in mine.

10 pounds seems like a lot, doesn't it? I do not know if it would be beneficial to put one on each leg for butterfly pose. It's hard for me to be flexible, do I need lots of help?

It's hard for me to imagine how they could possibly lose 10 pounds. Lift up a 10 pound bag of rice to verify (go to the grocery store and scoop up a bag). There is a possibility that your butterfly may be stretched out to an extent far beyond what you desire!

Since I had no idea where I would get the sand to fill an empty sandbag, I held off buying any for my home yoga practice. As I don't have a car and live in the city I am a bit restricted in my movement, so I can't run to a store for home improvement. After buying rice from the grocery store, I filled the bags with it The currently working method seems to be the correct one. As far as the future goes, I'm not sure if I should expect the rice to go bad or to begin smelling. The scent of the sandbags does not differ from rice for the moment. Unlike what I usually do, but I'm comfortable with it. My yoga teacher has recommended using these for breathing exercises, gaining stability in passive poses, and opening the hips I enjoy them a lot!.

Even with 7 pounds of rice it is too hard and round to stay in place. You can only fill 7 pounds of rice.

I think these are better than the studio bags and might even be better than what they supply. My friend and I bought about a 50 lb bag of play sand for It was a split with my yoga clique at the hardware store. Sand in each bag has a weight of 10 pounds. I have measured using The bags were filled with a newspaper funnel that I made out of newspaper.
