You can also throw into a net with a tee. It encourages kids to use their legs to move the bat, rather than their arms, because of the weighting on the bat. I saw my son's swing go from OK (but he tended to cast his arms) to "this cannot be the same kid" in 3 days (I have yet to see him play in a game, hoping to get another week of practice).

Having tried one from one of his teammates, I purchased one for my 11 year old son. It was as if his arms were made of jello after using this bat for 20 minutes. He picked up his regular bat shortly after that, and it felt like a feather in his hand. Building strength and leveling out your swing is a great benefit of these bats. I'm glad I did.

With our softball enthusiast daughter, we purchased this Cam bat in order to work on hitting. A great deal of strength has been gained in her swing due to that. The bat she uses to hit weighted balls is made of wood. You should buy this for your kid if they have their swing down and just need some more hitting strength.
