There is no arch support in these shoes, and the interior soles are completely flat. The 'Gel- Contend; The Asics Excite is a similar shoe that is slightly better quality and has some arch support than the Asics Excite.
In the top toe mesh of my pair, there was a small hole. Because the fabric is synthetic, I used a glob of Gorilla Glue gel and painted it black once it was dry to match the fabric. It's less expensive than buying a new pair of sneakers.

This pair of shoes is exactly what I've been looking for. Now, I don't usually write reviews unless I've had a bad experience. However, I felt compelled to write a review for these shoes because they are so incredible. Because I walk a lot at work, I needed something to wear. My slacks aren't appropriate for the office. My feet were swollen and I couldn't stand it. Every day when I came home from work, I was in excruciating pain. "Comfortable shoes with support," I looked up on Google. These appeared out of nowhere. I decided to give them a try after reading positive reviews. I am overjoyed to report that these shoes have alleviated my pain. Working is no longer a problem because my feet are no longer swollen. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SO Walking on the cushion, I can feel my feet sinking into it. You guys at ASICS really went above and beyond! Welcome to plantar fasciitis, as I like to call it. I'm an orthopedic physical therapist, so bear with me. I'm not an expert on the subject.
It easily competes with my $130 overpronation shoes, with the exception of the lack of arch support, which is where it fell short for me. I attempted to replace the insoles with arch support insoles, but the level of comfort was not the same. The provided insole is removable, but it is tacked down with adhesive; removing it did not damage the shoes, and I was able to replace it with care. br>br>To summarize, if you need overpronation support or if your gait is neutral, these shoes are fantastic. In this case, I would strongly recommend it, but it did not work for me. The shoes are beautiful to look at and comfortable to wear. If you just need some extra support and cushion, the price with the shoe's construction is an incredible value. This shoe had a plush midsole and a comfortable insole, but not to the point of being too heavy. I would have ordered another shoe to keep in storage when this one wears out if it weren't for my arch. For the free return, Amazon provided excellent service, as usual.
I was working from home during the Pandemic, so I couldn't go to the company gym or go for walks on the walking path during lunch. As a result, I started walking/jogging around my development to get some exercise. I quickly realized I needed new shoes and ordered these Asics after conducting extensive research. I have Plantar Fasciitis, and I used to get heel pain at the end of my walks. My pain has been relieved thanks to these shoes. I wish I had known about these things a long time ago. You don't need to spend $150 on a pair of running shoes to get a pair that is both functional and comfortable. Take a look at this. I believe you will be happy with the results.
It was a pleasant surprise. My feet were always a little sore after a run, but I figured that was normal after putting so much stress on your feet for 6-plus hours. I started running a couple years ago to be more active, and I started with an old pair of New Balance shoes and then bought another pair the next year, and they were fine. 10 miles. However, once I put these shoes on, I was blown away by how comfortable they are. The best part about them, in my opinion, is that they are extra wide and fit my feet better than any other running, basketball, or other shoe I have ever purchased. I'm not sure if the extra width or the insole make these more comfortable, but anyone with wide feet should try them. I'd previously purchased several pairs of wide shoes, but these stood out the moment I tried them on. I've run about 30 miles in them so far, and I'm starting to realize that your feet aren't supposed to hurt after a run. They're fantastic and keep my feet comfortable during my runs so I don't get sore.
Suppination is the goal of this design. My feet are flat and wide, and I suffer from severe suppination. That's an odd combination, but it's there. My shoes would literally start folding outwards because my feet were too wide and the shoe would allow my feet to roll to the outside when I walked, hitting the heel, then the outsides of my feet first. These shoes are the polar opposite of what you'd expect. They roll inwards, with no protruding arch on the inside. If anything, I'd say they take my outward rolling feet and roll them in a little more than is necessary. At the end of the day, I wanted a shoe that could neutralize my situation. That's ideal, but these were a welcome change from the distorted appearance of my other sneakers! There's plenty of space for wide-footed people. There is almost an excess of space. The length was fine, but the width at 4x wide was almost too much for me. I prefer 2x wide, but these are only available in regular and 4x sizes. The heel cush is a pleasant surprise, as the gel in the Contender 6's is excellent and has effectively treated my plantar fasciitis. It was so bad before I got these shoes that I couldn't walk for more than a few minutes without being in excruciating pain, even just going to the store. It was gone after a month in these, and I could walk and jog in them without any problems. Finally, I compared the Contender 7 to these, and the 7 version has a similar appearance but is significantly stiffer in the cushion. There's a difference between night and day! If you're looking for comfort, go with the Contender 6 and avoid the 7.
The cheap shoes' tread would quickly deteriorate. I made the decision to spend a little more money on a better pair of shoes. They had to be breathable, support my foot, and have a tread that didn't wear out quickly. The footwear is incredible! They provide the support I require, and the tread lasts far longer than the less expensive shoes I previously purchased! I can wear a size 9 to 10 depending on the type of shoe, but after reading other reviews, I decided to order a size 9. I'm glad I went with a 5, because I think a 9 would have been too small, but the 9 was perfect. For me, a size of 5 is ideal. I would definitely recommend this product and purchase it again.
