Rather than going with a small size, I would recommend a larger size with a drawstring so you can tighten the waistline. If you want the sleeves and pants to be rolled up, you can do that.

In response to a review where someone complained about the poly cotton mix they received, the reviewer was offered the correct model and offered the chance to have the return sent back.
This gi is advertised as being made of 100 percent Yet in reality it was only made from 55% cotton and the rest was This is a false claim that leaves me disappointed. Although it may not be ideal, it will work.
I found it to be pretty well fitting right out of the box. The measurements of my height and weight are 5 foot 11 1/2 inches tall and 180 pounds. About three or four inches of the gi shrank after the first wash. 100% cotton is what I believe to be true here. The gis feel very soft, even right out of the package, when compared to the Ronin Middle Weight gis. found that I needed to order this gi about a size larger in order to make it fit after it shrunk. Then I went back and ordered a size 6 it was so huge on me that, when I washed it in warm water, it almost shrank to the point of it fitting me! Make sure you are As of this morning I have only used the gi in cold water and I can report that it does not shrink any more and that it fits quite well. The pants would have been nicer if they had a little more room to move around, I almost considered buying a size 7 just to shrink down so that the pants would fit more comfortably. My opinion is that Ronin would be the perfect gi if the gussets in the pants were double the size. This would allow for more hip, crotch, and leg room as well. This light-weight gi provides me with much greater comfort and breathes so much better than the middleweight gi made by Ronin. Though that one is very nice, it doesn't feel as soft and supple and feels as cottony as the one we're using right now. You may also have to buy a size larger for the lightweight gi, and I am seriously considering buying another one two sizes bigger just so I can shrink it down to a more spacious feel than the one I own
These are very comfortable for hot weather and humidity, the other gis do not seem to breathe at all, almost like they have a bit of polyester in them, but maybe I haven't washed them enough and softened them.
