For both of my boys, I went with the standard horse size, and I'm glad I did. I own a 16-horse and a 14-horse. Horse with a small head and a height of 2hh. I'm glad I didn't get the small horse size because the little guy's halter might need some adjusting. A few other reviewers mentioned the small nose size; I didn't have this issue, but the nose band isn't very big. If in doubt, order a size up and adjust the rest of the halter as needed. br>br>The rope is ideal: it is strong and durable. With precisely placed knots. Expensive clinician halters are a waste of money. When I need another halter, I'll definitely order one of these!.

I didn't because almost all of the reviews for this product were four and five stars. Unfortunately, the poor sizing that nearly everyone has encountered has had no impact on the product's rating. It's a lovely halter, but the YEARLING SIZE IS SMALL. The noseband is positioned directly above the nostrils, which is incorrect. My Arabians are yearlings, and their heads are TINY. On them, traditional halters in Yearling size are enormous. This was such a SHOCK because it was so tiny. My Arabian Weanlings will be able to wear it. I'm afraid to order another because the Arabian size, which is nearly identical in measurements to the yearling, is likely to be too small. If the product had run true to size, I would have given it five stars; however, you should read the measurement guide because the size labels are useless.

When it comes to these halters, there are a few things to keep in mind: They have no stretch, which is exactly what you want, and they last an eternity if properly cared for. They are also much easier to use than a traditional halter. I've actually used side pulls by attaching rings to the side points of my older halters.

I'm a typical horse husband who has little knowledge of his wife's pastime. This was a Christmas present for her, and she loves it. The knots apply pressure in the right places to keep the animal under control; it's nice and stiff, and it's kept its shape well. It's good for her that she doesn't have to stretch. She did say that the standard size fits a cob size head, but she did say that it runs small. That's from her, not me; I'm clueless!.

I bought mine with a matching lead rope to work with a (large) Clydesdale Yearling and the large will be perfect. Color is amazing, shipping was great, I can't say enough good things about this.

Before I sent my mare to a training facility for the last five months, I bought this halter brand new. The knots around her nose were exactly where they needed to be for proper pressure alignment. She's been kept mostly in an outdoor pen, with this halter hung on a post next to her gate when not in use. I figured I'd have to replace the halter when she got home because it had been exposed to the elements and the sun. However, I picked her up this week, and the halter is still as lovely as it was when I bought it, with no signs of wear and the color as vibrant as it was when I bought it. I'm completely taken aback. I just purchased a second halter for my other horse because I'm so impressed with the quality of this one. Let's start with size: my horse has a delicately small head and is built very small. She is 13 years old and is half Arabian. With a dish nose, he stands 5 hands tall. I ordered a Small and it fits her perfectly, leaving plenty of room on her face for yawning. The color turquoise is absolutely stunning!
