I agree with you that the carry bag is cheap and that you cannot fit a tape measure in it with the balls, but you can put a rag inside to wipe them. This surface finish appears to hold up well, and the overall quality is good. As of yet, the surface has only been scratched slightly. This set of tennis balls is excellent. The jack (or Palino as we call it) is also regulation size. However, the carrying bag is of poor quality, not sure how long it will last. If the bag were of better quality, the set would have been 5 stars.
Choosing a set made in Italy seemed like the right choice as I wanted a set that was well-made. A set made in China is the subject of my research and I also examined that set. I found it to be of poor quality and apparent filler material was used. It cost significantly more than I expected, but I am quite pleased with the set. Better craftsmanship than something that you can get at a big box store is what I would prefer to pay for.
