This knife is simply (AMAZING)! For a couple of years, I've been watching and wishing. br>I can't think of anything wrong with this knife; it's well worth the money. The kydex sheath is safe, and once you get the hang of it, you'll be fine. Now I'm going to say that the negative reviews aren't entirely fair to the ka- If you use this knife for bushcrafting, you risk damaging it. It amazes me how people abuse the knife by throwing it and pounding it with a stick (batoning) and then leaving negative reviews. If you want a bushcraft knife, get the Becker bk 7 or bk9, which I've included in my 1282 d2 as a pick. Abuse will cause even the best knives to break or be damaged. This knife, the 1282 d2, is designed for combat, hence the name "extreme fighting knife. " It is a fantastic blade that feels great in your hand, earning it a perfect score of 100 stars. Just keep in mind that this is a fighting knife, and you'll have one of the best knives ever made. If you abuse it, you will end up with a damaged knife. Do your homework and take care of it, and you'll be as content as I am right now.
br>The D2 steel is a great choice because it is extremely durable and has a higher corrosion resistance than the 1095 CroVan steel used in other KA-type products. The use of BAR knives br>The knife also throws with pinpoint accuracy (using the thorn throw, also known as "no-spin" or "quarter spin") from a distance of eight feet. 10 feet), not that you'd ever throw your weapon at a potential attacker unless it was absolutely necessary. br>br>The sheath is a well-made military-style sheath. I believe the nylon is protected by a Kydex insert. The listing stated that the knife would come with a Kydex hard sheath, but instead I received a nylon sheath. I'm glad, because unlike the Kydex sheath, this one has a lot of Mollie straps (including a detachable one) and a belt strap that unbuttons, allowing you to quickly remove the sheath from your belt without having to remove half of your belt. br>br>Despite the sheath's excellent quality, I decided to remove the in- the- The grip strap on the left is the lower of the two. This is simple to accomplish by snipping the square cross-section of the square cross-section of the square cross-section of the square cross-section of Just below the belt loop snap, there is a hatch stitch on the back side of the sheath. Cutting the nylon isn't necessary. I also took off the upper Velcro Molle strap and replaced it with a different knife, and I added about 25 feet of 450 lb paracord to the back, which is held in place by built-in anchor points. It's extremely useful! br>br>Unlike Kydex sheaths, the knife does not lock into the nylon sheath, but it fits snugly and will not slide out if inverted while unstrapping the upper button strap. In the sheath pocket, I keep some basic first-aid supplies as well as some mini ferro rods. For sharpening, I prefer a large diamond stone (I used a large DMT brand stone with a high grit). A simple Smith's pocket sharpener can be used to sharpen serrations. Just make sure you know how to sharpen serrations (the opposite technique from sharpening the main edge) so you don't mess them up when the time comes (which will be a long time). br>br>Aside from a few tweaks to the sheath design, I couldn't be happier with this beast!.
BAR! As a long-time knife collector and user, I can tell you that when it comes to blades, you get what you pay for. This is the fourth KA- I've ever had. I'm a huge fan of BAR. This is my first knife made with d2 steel, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs; everything I've heard about it has been positive. The main reason I bought this knife was because I had recently purchased a USMC knife and fell in love with it; however, because it was collectible, I didn't want to use it, so I planned to purchase another of the same knife until I came across this one. Now that I've got this knife, I'm thinking it'll be my go-to blade for outdoor adventures while my USMC Kabar sits in splendor at home. This is a fantastic knife at an even better price! You can either purchase any knife or a KA-BAR. BAR
- So I'm coming back to tell you how I feel about this knife after a few months of using it Frank James lll% (g)
ok so I'm coming back This knife is a beast, and I've put it to the test. I've split logs with knots in the wood that would destroy other blades, and this one smiles through it. After all of the splitting, the D2 steel retains its edge well enough to produce good feather sticks. I use this knife almost every day around the house, whether it's for back yard chors or slicing my food. I've also had the pleasure of taking it out in nature and doing some bushcraft with it. The ideal bushcraft knife would be a little smaller and without serrations, but this knife is capable of handling even the most delicate tasks. I can't tell you how much I adore this knife; if it's not on my hip, it's in my pack or in my hand, and it's a great self-defense weapon. This knife is a ten star knife! If you're on the fence about getting it, don't be. do it! & If you do, don't be afraid to use it; this isn't a knife you should be afraid to use; it's a workhorse ready to take on any task you throw at it!
P. To keep it sharp, you'll need a diamond stone.
I've had Ka- for quite some time now. I've seen a lot of bars before, and while I like the classic look, I wanted something different. The fact that this model is made of D2 steel convinced me to buy it. I prefer the single hand guard to the double, and the sheath is excellent. br>br>It came razor sharp right out of the box, and I'm delighted to add it to my growing collection. Ka- Although bars have a reputation for being tough blades, if you're looking for a knife to do any kind of bushcrafting with, there are better knives specifically designed for those tasks. However, if you're in a pinch, the Ka-Bar is a good option. Overall, it's a fantastic combat knife that I would strongly recommend to any D2 steel fanatics out there.
