I was never able to get it to work, even though it is supposed to benefit from links.
There is only one model of the 5700 that is equipped with the "bluetooth LiNK" function that can use the bluetooth functionality of this rangefinder. You will not be able to use this feature on any other Kestrel weather meters unless you have an upgradeable version. There is however a price tag of around $190 for this item. It can be as much as $300 or even more. As far as I know, there are no upgrades that would work with the Kestrel d3 models.
It is only possible to use this function if the 5500 Kestrel is equipped with Bluetooth LiNK. Please avoid getting confused with what some sellers advertise as a Bluetooth "likk" when they are actually simply referring to the capability (5500 models) of downloading free software updates. It is not the same as being able to download free upgrades to the 5500 model, as some sellers claim in an attempt to make you believe it is the 5500 model because it is so much less expensive. As I mentioned just above, you get what you pay for, so if the price looks good, it is most likely what I just explained.

For the price, this is an amazing range finder. Not just for the price, but to be able to link up with my Kestrel and phone, I've been waiting for the release of this model for two years now. In comparison to what you could find it elsewhere for, this is an amazing price. During my late season antelope hunt last month, I had a great deal of success with it. I really like the bright display and the brightness adjustments I can make. In terms of battery life, it appears great from what is advertised, though I will have to wait to see how it performs over time. While hunting, I was only ranging out to around 900 yards, but I got results almost instantly, unlike most of the other rangefinders I'm used to. When you range a good reflective target at a distance, there is virtually no delay. The rangefinder still needs to be setup but the ballistics have yet to be uploaded. I'll do that and see how it compares with the verified corrections I have so far. Overall, this is an amazing product at an incredible.

Wow, This is a great laser range finder at this price. well built, the rubber armor is very "grippy" and feels very good, and the optics are very clear and provide a good amount of Despite the relatively small size of the LCD display, it is crystal have read other reviews where people did not like the way this connected to their phones. I'd guess they are taking a measurement, then their phone goes into sleep mode (normal for most phones), and the device does not stay While testing, this happened to me, but I was able to fix it by closing and restarting the ConX program. It's not that big of a deal to me, but I guess if you are searching for a complaint this is the only one I can think of. Generally speaking, this is a great LRF if you need to lase something less than 1500m.
0 and newer devices are not compatible with application integration. You can use this rangefinder on older devices but don't expect it to work on recent ones. It appears that the most recent update was in 2018 and the rangefinder won't even be recognized on a Samsung S10 running Android 9 Pie. It appears the problem is with the application and not with Bluetooth. The Bluetooth on the rangefinder is fully functional and it can be seen by any smartphone. The fact that it supports the CONX feature makes me regret buying the model.
Works extremely quickly and has multiple modes to choose from to range with. When others failed to work in cold conditions, this product worked beautifully. Unlike some of the more expensive range finders in our group, this one gave readings quite quickly when others in our group failed to find range or took twice as long. The rubberized coating of this unit is robust and provides great grip with just about any glove. I was able to enter my custom ballistics and set the scope adjustment to holdover in MOAs, which made the process of setting up and taking the shot very easy and convenient. Due to this range finder, I was able to find a beautiful animal at a distance of one range and get a good shot. This unit is highly recommended and gets an A+ grade from me.
This is a very good rangefinder for the price. A range of small trees I have measured reached 1600 yards. A five star rating would have been worth it, but the blue tooth on this is terrible. have been lucky a few times and managed to upload some ballistic data, but it really depends on the wind. You will be notified when the device has been found, but it will then instantly disconnect. After restarting my computer, I was able to login to my account Six times I tried and it finally worked and then as I mentioned, it didn't work for a while. The test did not work. Don't be surprised if you get frustrated.
My range with it has reached a mile. If the target is at that range, it has to be clear to capture on it that it will be able to detect. I ran it side by side with a gunwurks rangefinder of the same calibre, and there was a 2-m difference in accuracy A difference of 3 yards at around 1000 yards is apparent. Has a good feel in the hand and is made of pretty good My recommendation is to buy these again and recommend them to my friends.
A big improvement over my 600 yard device, just don't try to measure a paper target at 1000 yards when there is full snow cover on top of it. A mountain goat can be observed at 1500 yards if snow is covering the ground. Aside from the horizontal shape, I also like the vertical Much easier to hold on to as well.
