Questions & Answers

Does it come with a waterproof case?

The device said IP67, the same as the Eotech Exp3 or the iPhone 12. That means it will withstand 30 minutes in water under three feet.

Do you have a low-flip up mount for the Troy?

The word "co-" is missing from your sentence In your question, you use the word "witness.". A low profile iron will show in the lower third of the shot.

Solar power What it is and how it works? Can it be powered by a solar panel or does it work only when the sun is shining?

It stores no power during the daytime when the Sun is up. As I always had a battery with me, I never tested the solar. My understanding is that those who mention solar only or the battery need to be more powerful to make it as bright as with solar only. It might be a year or two before you would need the solar power since the battery lasts like 10,000 hours or something similar.

Eotech is almost as good! A battery is needed for solar, and unusual tools are needed for sight
4/5

As a shooting sports enthusiast, I have used numerous red dot sights over the years, especially high-end ones As well as end sights made by Eotech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, and Meprolight, there are also mid-range sights. The company Holosun makes sighting devices for guns. The company Sightmark makes sights for guns. Although the Holosun is made in China, its price is almost as high as those of top brands made in America, Sweden, and Israel, so it deserves to be compared with the best in those countries. The following American, Swedish, and Israeli brands (Eotech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, and Meprolight) represent the best. In comparison to the Eotech, it is almost as good. Conclusion 3 out of 5. It's a 5 out of 5. I almost like it as much as the Eotech XPS2 Although it is a decent starting point, it does have flaws, some of them major. As for the third star, I was in the midst of rounding to 4 stars, but I like the sight, so I'll round to The stars range from 5 to 4. Remember to keep the package with the Holosun tools, since you'll need to use the special tools every time you use your HS512C to correct windage and elevation. Any screwdrivers or tools in your range bag won't work with THE POSITIVES ARE It is great to have a dot reticle! A reticle with a zero size, XPS3-compatible It has a EXPS3-style reticle A reticle of zero points). circle is made up of There is a lot of speed and accuracy with the dot reticle. 1) If the specifications are correct, the battery life is phenomenal. When the circle is drawn Reticle has 20,000 hours of life, so if left on for two years, it would last two years. It is a much longer battery life than the Eotech holographic sights, which have about 1,000 hours because of their laser technology, which drains more power. * 3) Shake well It's a great feature to have an automatically-on sight. You can leave it on all the time if you want (even if you don't believe the 20,000 hours 4) Perfect weight and size. Not overly heavy or too light. I like how this one is a little lighter than an Eotech XPS2 or XPS3. As a result, it is narrower and shorter than the Eotech XPS2 or XPS3 so it will fit narrow guns, such as the Savage Model 42, Lever-action pistols, and similar ones. A full-sized action rifle or an action pistol may also be used The revolver should be a reasonable size. It is the first time I have encountered a sight here in the Holosun universe where I haven't been misled by the company about the size or weight of the device. Whenever I've bought or researched a Holosun sight, the company cheats by removing the mounting base, weighing it, and replacing the mount, which sometimes means that when you receive it, it weighs twice as much as it was advertised and is 50% larger than advertised. Holosun HS512C , however, has an integrated mounting base, so it is impossible for the company to remove it before weighing 5) Battery door does not require any tools for opening. So you figured out how to make a battery door that doesn't require tools to open, Holosun, well done. Could you also figure out how to make a QD mount that requires no tools, and windage and elevation knobs that are compatible with previous Holosun tools without requiring a special Holosun HS512C tool? 6) Compatibility with night vision devices, or NVDs, via very low brightness There will be few people who use this feature, but if you need it, you can use All upper-level employees are eligible to apply These features can be found in high-end Eotech sights (such as the EXPS3 and XPS3) In the Eotech XPS2 and EXPS2, it is not available. THE NEGATIVES ARE 1) Unlike Sightmark's less expensive solar red dot sights (the Sightmark Element Mini Solar and Sightmark Volta), the Holosun HS512C does not function without a battery, even when under bright sunlight. As a result, I believe that the solar panels on the Holosun HS512C are just a gimmick and a way to automatically adjust the reticle's brightness. Sightmark's Element Mini Solar costs less than half as much as the Holosun HS512C and has a superior sun panel that powers the sight even with no battery, so it can be used without having to use the battery-powered version except within low light conditions. 3) The mount requires a hex key. It is better for me to see sights that are either quick or simple Mounts that can be installed with ordinary tools, such as a common screwdriver, coin, or adjustable wrench, such as quick-detach (QD) mounts. It seems that a QD mount for the Holosun would be appropriate for its high price. HoloSun, you figured out how to create a battery door that doesn't need tools to open - I appreciate your expertise! Are you able to make an easy QD mount that doesn't require special tools as well? 3) THERE IS ONE HUGE DEFECT Without a special Holosun HS512C tool (which is too big to fit on a keychain), zeroing it is impossible. Both my Holosun HS515C and one of my screwdrivers would not fit this new sight! The first time I took it to the gun range to sight it in, I failed to bring the box it came in, which contained a tool for adjusting the windage and elevation adjustment knobs, but was devoid of a fitting for mounting on a Then I thought, "No matter, I always come prepared with all the tools I need, including coins, hex tools, several screwdrivers, and a Holosun HS515C on my keychain. ". The fact is I had a Holosun HS515C sight adjustment tool on my keychain from my previous Holosun sight, but guess what? It has been crushed. This Holosun tool (which is meant to fit on a keychain) does not fit the Holosun HS512C, because it is too large! surely one of the other tools in my range bag and on my keychain would fit, too? I had dozens of tools on hand, so surely one does, I'm not sure. There was no success with any of them. My first attempt was what has worked for every other red dot sight I have tried This is money. On the Holosun, even a dime was too big to fit into the adjustment screw. In addition, I tried each of the three screwdrivers on my keychain, but none of them fit-- The standard ones (although small) were too big, and the Philips models were too big as well One would not fit on the head. - I don't see any reason to panic With my range bag empty, I removed the small case of jewelers' screwdrivers from my range bag. I'll tell you what, shall we? I had a bit of trouble using the jeweler's screwdriver since it was just a bit too small. In desperation, I attempted to use the rim of one of the bottles. As I quickly realized, if I couldn't adjust the sights, my trip to the gun range to sight in my gun with the holo-sun sight would be a complete waste of time. There were finally 22 rimfire brass available, and I was glad to have acquired them. Here is the Brass from a 22 rimfire was almost the right size for the screws on the Holosun to adjust the windage and elevation. Next I would like to point out a negative aspect HoloSun, you figured out how to create a battery door that doesn't need tools to open - I appreciate your expertise! Would you be able to make windage and elevation knobs that don't require a special Holosun HS512C tool that may not be compatible with other 4) The windage and elevation knobs are so quiet when zeroing that they're almost inaudible even with earplugs or shooting earmuffs on! At the gun range, I was the only person at the range, so I could take off my shooting earmuffs, but I still could not hear the gun Before I could finally hear the click, I had to turn off both the heater and ventilation fans on the control panel. My next step was to repeat this after every third shot Walk to the control panel, turn off the heating and ventilation fans, then walk back to the gun and adjust the elevation and windage knobs a few clicks (using the rim of the. Since none of my screwdrivers or tools would work, I had to use 22 rimfire brass), then I had to walk back to the control panel, turn on the heating and ventilation fans, walk back to the rifle, and continue shooting. Five) Compared to the Eotech XPS2 and Eotech XPS3, the Holosun HS512C has a shiny, reflective front lens that indicates just where the hunter or shooter is, regardless of what animal is in front of him. They are true laser holographic sights, not reflective in nature, which makes them much more covert. 6) Compared to its closest competitors, the Eotech XPS2 and Eotech XPS3, the Holosun HS512C is probably unstable. A shield of aluminum covers the Eotech sights to protect them from being damaged if you drop your weapon on them. A Holosun sight would probably break if I dropped my rifle with it on, so I wouldn't want to drop my rifle with one on.

There should be one red dot to which all others are compared
5/5

Getting this dot first before anything else will be the best thing you can do for yourself. The price is right, and its feature set is as good as anything else. As similar as it is to the 510C, but that it is much more durable and enclosed, enabling it to perform better in harsh conditions and dust. It has a big field of view, is relatively light at about eight ounces, and has a great battery life. All mounting hardware is included in the 1oz package. a large field of view, solar backup in case the battery dies, excellent battery saving, passive off/auto on feature, and a choice of reticle, allowing you to pick the one you want rather than spending $400+ and hoping you'll like it. Red dots on rifles have no issues for me, I use them on my competition rifles with no issues.

Are we facing the death of EOTech? Before purchasing the Holosun, I conducted a lot of research
5/5

Then before I bought the Holosun, I tried a few cheaper devices. My research led me to believe that the Holosun would match or even exceed the EOTech's build quality although my experience with the cheaper product has led me to believe that they won't. However, it doesn't mean you must spend $300 or more to find It's true that the Sig Sauer Romeo's are a solid option if you are looking for red dots in a tube style (Aimpoint). To me, the HUD is preferable The red dots (EOTech) are much more open and without adjustment knobs, making it easier to see. The HUD has other functions as well While you can find a few fully enclosed models for less money, few others would live up to the reputation and features of Holosun, from what I could find. Several of the features of the shake awake, solar backup, and auto dim are excellent. I am very pleased with the build quality. There is a premium feel to the packaging. It is easy to make adjustments. Using the automatic setting, you can leave it there and let it do its thing It is a pure joy to see the gun go on once you move it. The truth is, you will not find a better sight at a lower price and the kicker is that you will be hard pressed to locate a better sight at a higher price either.

$50 more than a 507c is well worth it
5/5

It was a good decision to return the 507c for the 515c, which is nearly identical, but the 515 is fully enclosed, so there is no worry about dust, moisture, or blood getting into the little cracks and crevices. I am able to see crystal clear through the sight window. Compared to the 507c where I had to use a special allen wrench to change the battery (which was not going to last more than a year), this one does not require tools.

You impress me
5/5

5. 0 out of 5 stars as soon as you get it! Initial expectations were definitely met and exceeded. All of the housing is made of aluminum and is With the glass clear and crisp, the reticle is very visible in all settings and the glass is very clear. The zero holds well and I am looking forward to shooting with it.

This is a great optic
5/5

Red dot optics are of course not new to me, but I now find this to be my absolute favorite. Installation and zeroing are easy and the zero is retained. Every time I pick it up, it is already on. very clear and there is no haze that may be present in some optics, which allows you to shoot with both eyes open without any discomfort. It works quite well to automatically adjust the brightness You can still aim at the target even if the sun is bright and you are in the.

The right place at the right time
5/5

I like the Holosun circle very much. The point. The glass is very clear and can be adjusted in I very much appreciate the battery tray as a nice detail There is no need for tools, just flip the lever out and unscrew a little.

I love this optic for its price and its durability
5/5

It is quite a stoutly built red dot with a very long battery life (Time will tell). The controls are easy to operate, and the choice of reticules is always a nice feature.
