After 30 years of scrubbing both ways with a brass brush, my father retired as a military armorer. After that, I now use any brush to scrub only from the breech to the muzzle in order to avoid splattering any traces of dirt into the receiver and magazine As well as a bore guide, I also use something to aid in
Because of the packaging of the brush, the printing is only in the case, not on the brushes, and it is very easy to mix them up. They are very nice brushes, however I think they need to be individually marked since multiple brushes can fit in almost any slot. It is a great cleaning kit that I would highly recommend. Let me start by saying that I am of the opinion that cleaning the barrel shall not be started until it is proving problematic. To clean my barrels, I normally use a wet patch of my favorite gun cleaner, not a brush. My long range shots are out to a distance of one The brushes I use to remove carbon rings from match grade rifles with match grade chambers are only used to remove carbon rings from my match grade rifles. I use these brushes for a variety of purposes and they do a good job. There is no reason to be disappointed for those who scrub their barrels. These brushes are great for removing carbon rings if they are a problem with your gun after cleaning it with your favorite solution and elbow grease.
It is very convenient to reuse these brushes in the container. While I like the labels, I wish they were divided or colored so I could identify them more quickly. In any case, the container is very nice, and it even has holes for hanging or tying. The bore brushes are high quality and as good as any other brush I have used in the past. The rods fit Hoppe's cleaning rods very tightly, and they pass through their specific calibers with no problem.
I do not necessarily use them for cleaning rifles or pistols. As a result of this, brass brushes are destroyed because their bristles bend and collapse, but nylon brushes bounce back to their original shape after using this method. I can find brushes with the right size range for most parts that I need cleaned.
It has so far been successful. The copper eating bore solvents were used to scrub these into the bores. Due to the fact that the solvents destroy bronze brushes quickly, I am using nylon in this case. The . I have only used it a few times. So far I have cleaned 22 brushes, but I did scrub out several bores and so far I think it is Nylon is softer than steel so it can't damage the bore in any way, despite being aggressive. It wears down less than steel due to the solvents. As long as they can withstand long term use, we will see. In the event they crap out, I will update you.
Use a nylon bore brush for applying the copper remover (as well as a plastic/nylon jag) to push your cotton patch if you are going to use copper/fouling remover such as Sweets or Bore Tech Eliminator. When you use copper removers on standard bronze bore brushes, the patches will show a false reading of copper. You could use this Tiptom 14 piece nylon bore brush set for most calibers available at an affordable price.
In order to remove copper fouling, you also need a synthetic cleaning rod, such as a carbon fiber or fiberglass cylinder. My second set was not only because they do a great job with BTE, but they are so good I bought a third.
When I saw this, I knew I would be happy to give it to him, he hates snakes and doesn't know how to clean his guns so when I saw it, I knew he would will be pleased.
They are still the same part number, but I think you now receive 13 brushes instead of the 14 they advertised. They have changed the size too. The give you a now for some reason. The brush for 20 cals but not for 6 cals. You can use brushes with diameters of 5, 7, or 8 mm.
Everything went according to plan. Brass is a decent alternative to the traditional metal.
