Questions & Answers

Is it possible to backlight the keys?

I have had my safe for about two years, and that model does not come with The buttons are marked with a 'beep' when they are pressed. Lighting, however, does not exist.

Is it possible to fit two pistols without scratching each other when removing them?

My XDM is a full-size model and my XDS is a smaller size. In both cases, I can fit them in without removing any ammunition. A full-size gun and a submachine gun would scratch each other.

Can you tell me how long the battery will last?

I would think you'd have it for several years if you put fresh batteries in it when you buy it. After about 18 months, I replaced the original crappy batteries of mine and am very happy with it now In the past five years, the new ones have lasted about 24 months and about 5 years. There is probably a limit to how much you can open and close a door. Check where the key is to make sure you have it. It's not a bad idea to be safe. It is kept in an empty travel case that I carry with me when I travel.

Is there a way to disable the beeping?

By pressing *02, you will disable beeps, and by pressing *01 you will return them

A very cheap product
3/5

Do not purchase this product. I have not purchased anything like this on Amazon before. Upon opening it for the first time, the battery cover was broken off. I was unable to even lay a finger on it. The batteries fall out every time I try to open the door, so I can't even shut the door. It won't even shut with a key, so I'll have to use a key to open it. You will not be able to get a return Take advantage of it by buying something that will last longer than five minutes and provide you with value.

The keypad is out of order
3/5

There is a cheap feel to it. A little scrawny. I just received mine. The first thing I thought was, "Wow, this is so cheap!".
Nothing happens to the lock with the keypad. All it does is turn the lights A click or any other action is not required. Even though it says 'open,' the unit is not actually unlocked when it says that.
The instructions state that the knob must be all the way to the left in order for the door to It wasn't the case when I slammed it to the left, but I tried that to see if it were. Despite the fact that it is fixed, I am not going to trust this thing in an emergency No matter how many backup keys you have. You have to type the code into the lock by hand because it jiggles. It's not just a jiggle or a clank, but metal clanging.

Fits up to 2 pistols
3/5

Perfect for single pistols and double pistols. Fits up to 2 pistols. Perfect for single pistols and double pistols. To keep the kids away from my prescription drugs and pistol, I keep them in the gun. It's been working flawlessly for me since I installed it. A RECENT UPDATE- My rating was changed to 2 stars because the door has become uneven and I can't open it without using a knife. The screws that hold the hinges are at an impossible angle to reach to loosen them for adjustment, so I had to stop using them entirely. When I can't open it easily, there is no point in keeping the gun as a safety precaution.

There is a problem with the door
3/5

There was a problem with the door of my safe when it arrived. The door would not physically open even after I unlocked it with the key. After turning the safe over (so that the door was facing downward) and shaking it, I still had no luck. I discovered that the door was install at a weird angle - even though both the safe and the door were installed at the same angle. It was completely positioned in the closed position since it wasn’t parallel to the frame of the safe. As soon as I began seriously thinking about screwdrivers and pry bars, I took this as a sign that I’d better just return it and get my money back.

The price was cheap, but security was limited
3/5

suitable for the amount of money stored in it There is nothing luxurious or highly secure about this product, but it will keep curious little hands out of whatever you decide to put inside. However, the electronic circuitry has a bad habit of deteriorating over time. If you toss it, you'll be good for a few more years if you buy a new one (warranty expired). Anyone who has a collection of highly valuable firearms will would like to invest a little more in a better To see how easy it is to remove the box from the wall or shelf, you just need a pry bar and a hammer, and you can use a circular saw to cut the box open.

It was very difficult to program a new code into the safe
3/5

This is you. It was very difficult to program a new code into the safe. There is a small plastic piece tucked in an awkward place near the door hinge that you have to remove. In that case, the code I input would have no effect. The second attempt was successful. There was no way to solve this problem. The 1-800 number had not been answered after I waited a couple of days A number of people were using the 800-number when suddenly it worked. It would have been nice if there was a bit more room to fit the gun case and.

You'll be glad you have one
4/5

It's a great little safe to have. I put my pistol, a couple of magazines, money and a bag of marijuana in it, and it all fits perfectly. A few things that I don't like are the size of the keypad as well as the sound it makes. In terms of the number entry it is a bit slow if you are dealing with an enemy you need to neutralize. Other than these little things (which I hope will be addressed in a later update) I also really It might also be a good idea to add a tiny light when the door opens.

Safe is fine for its price
4/5

As many reviewers point out, this is not burglar proof, but it is great for kids to keep guns, etc. not accessible to anyone. There are a few minor items the safe doesn't have, but not enough to dock its rating There is no way that it is as wide as 12". It may have been 12 3/16" or 12 1/4", but Even though this might sound insignificant, it is, unless you are trying to fit a device in a space that is 12 1/8" wide. I found a different place to put it, but it is a tiny frustration. There's a lot of sound coming from the buttons. It is obvious you are accessing a safe when you tell everyone on the floor. Although I have not figured out how to disable or mute them yet (see keypad lag below), I'm not convinced I want to. I use the key half the time to keep it quiet, even though I want to keep it quiet most of the time. Since I have had the safe for about a month, I have hardly ever had a problem opening it through the keypad (I use it pretty regularly), except when I type a wrong code. There is unfortunately only so much typing that a key pad can accommodate, and you still need to be able to recognize the inputs. This is where a beep is useful. whether or not the entry has been successfully recognized. Inputs will be missed and the program won't open if you type too fast. There is nothing bad about it, but getting used to it takes a little while. Considering the price, the finish is better than I expected, but buy real wall anchors from your local hardware store instead of the ones included with the package. It's a bad idea to use the anchors provided, as they are likely to spin in the wall before they can expand fully leaving you with a half-mounted In spite of all the criticisms above, I think it is a nice little safe and I It's a great buy at a great price, and it fits and finishes nicely *(On this model, there is no light. It was not a problem for me, so there are no points deducted for that, but a battery light would be helpful.
