Questions & Answers

What do you think about using it at 13 years old?

It's okay, as long as the older brother is responsible with it. The typical model of "BB" gun I received 53 years ago was my first. Despite having to replace the seals twice over the years, I still have that gun and it works great.

Are there BBs included in the shipment?

The copper bbs you need to buy for this gun are useless. The silver BBS is yours for free. There are imperfections in copper ones that could lead to jamming.

What kind of box does it come in? Does it look ?

There was a vintage box 55 years ago, but I can't remember it's appearance. I like the look of this box, but it is

A RED RYDER YOU THINK IS broken MUST BE CHECKED OUT BEFORE returning it
5/5

This is a great idea! It requires repairs (per Daisy's Repair Dept. ). In honor of my father, who appreciates dirt cheap entertainment and cheap shooting, I purchased two Red Ryders. I bought a second gun after the first gun failed after about 20 shots. The first gun lasted for about 4,000 shots until he cocked it one day and the lever went limp and stopped working. After being cocked, the gun would not fire and the cocking lever had no resistance. I called Daisy, and their repair department got both guns to work in 5 minutes! Below are a few options you can consider. 2) Turn the safety on. Hold the muzzle of the gun on your knee with the barrel pointing toward 2) See how far you can cock it. I think it will take about nine or nine 4) Hold the gun firmly and with a good deal (perhaps too much) of force try to force the cocking lever on until you hear one or two Sounds like the jam may be cleared if the clicking is heard. It may fire if you turn it off outside, turn off the safety and see. Your efforts will be rewarded IF it does. An easy fix appears to be available for this generally occurring problem.

I enjoyed it
5/5

It is nostalgic. I found it to be surprisingly A pair of these I ordered for my brother came in, and now I may have to order a second one In response to my receiving this item, I opened it immediately under the pretense of testing it. I bought BBs immediately after finding out the console did not come with them, so I ran to the store to pick up a few while I waited for the order to arrive. My next step was to sit out on my back patio and fire every single one of them. There's no doubt the designs aren't as solid as those I remember from the days when I used to fire these at Cub Scout camp, but for the price, what modern constructed product would be more durable? In place of metal, the button for cocking is now made of plastic. I would like to underscore that while it is plastic, it is However, on the other hand, it seems that this is more accurate than I remembered. While it's not the most powerful BB gun in the world, it's not meant to be one either because of its spring loaded design. I have yet to encounter jamming issues in over 500 shots since I purchased the camera. I saw that a few people have experienced jamming issues. I'm going to give him this last gift like in the movie. Will watch the Christmas Story every year during Christmas so that I can see it as his last Christmas gift.

That wasn't the Red Ryder my grandfather had when he was a youngster
3/5

This problem has occurred to me twice in as many years, and both times the refrigerator decided to quit after just In the end, I acquired them as a "potential" target, to fire at birds I'd rather not shoot at, and I gave each a cocked shot and a firing shot, maybe 20 to 30 times. I shoot approximately 30 times a month, so it's not like I'm taking part in a "wild west" chase scene. There was no response from either rifle. The cocking lever on each of them broke down after about 200 shots. As soon as the second one quit, I sent an email I mailed Daisy over two months ago, and after I received a response with a suggestion that the rifle be shipped back to Daisy (at my expense) for repair, I finally received a response. I don't want to hear. For a piece of junk made in China for so little money, it's not worth the price.

A gun that can be purchased for $25 can be very good
5/5

A gun that can be purchased for $25 can be very good. Only complaint is that I wish they would make one for double or triple the price with a metal lever, better sights, scope rails made out of metal, and everything else made out of stamped sheet metal rather than sheet Let's put in a gas piston for $110 and charge $110 for (I am not referring to Daisy's target version at all. This game doesn't deserve to be viewed at 240 frames per second. The fact that there is no middle ground between this $25 BB gun and something like the $180 Gamo Swarm or $300 Umarex Gauntlet is sad. Even if you switch to something like the Gamo Swarm or a PCP gun like the Umarex Gauntlet, you are still loading a clip of pellets one at a time Every 10 or so shots, one comes from a tin. Having to reload isn't the same as being able to walk around the woods for an hour shooting twigs or leaves. If it were possible to purchase an adult-quality version of this, I would love to get it.

This is a win-win situation! My dream to own a Red Rider has finally come true

They will have a great time plinking, and you can use this opportunity to teach them the proper handling of firearms.

Being a kid again is so much fun! It's been a long time since I had so many good memories and friends. The last time I said this The fun is about to end! I have to order one before it's too late! This was the first firearm I ever owned. I'm now an adult and own a number of firearms. She is an icon of the American Dream for me.

You squirrels need to leave because we live in the city and we have squirrels all over the place
5/5

As a result, we cannot discharge a 22 or something similar to permanently solve the issue, so this is our next best option. Our squirrels have been discouraged somewhat by the tool (it does not kill them, just makes them yell at us and let them go, but it is easy to load and to use).
