You are right. Carbine buffers are equipped with three weights of steel. The tungsten will replace each one given that you replace one with it. An increase of 7oz in weight.

Every consistent weight should be accounted for as well. A total of 1 was weighed for all 3. The weighing scale in my kitchen reads 41 ounces. I couldn't reload them with my reloading scale because they're so heavy. Although they are somewhat larger than the weights out of my rifle's buffer, they still slide in since air escapes as they pass them and that is what causes them to slide slowly in. Although I am not sure if I will need all three at the same time, I would be happy to have the rest on hand in case I need them in the future.
A weight was added to an existing buffer by means of this.
