I absolutely love these. I threaded 30 lb test line over the edge and twisted the top part of the light on. I flipped on the light and put the top back on. Fish and turtles attempt to swim away with it but can't, as the light uses more than one light to attract them. I enjoy watching silly turtles because they make me laugh. After dark fishing is highly recommended if you are into that kind of thing.
After I bought 2 of these, I put batteries in them and kept them on my boat for my next trip to the I was disappointed when I opened my bag to find that both of the lights were broken in the back of my bag after I visited the Bahamas after they opened to tourists in November. There will be no one I recommend this to.
It's not very bright, and I had two wire loops just break off my snap swivel to leader attachment, apparently due to weak wire. It may be easier to attach a rubber band to the main line instead of using the main snap lock.
There are no obvious defects in these. There is a bright blue light coming from the strobe. There are many fish that will hop onto our deep drop rigs when they see them.
They arrived on time and were a great value.
First drop at 1800 FT, both lights fried out and turned into brown mush. As a result of poor design, both lights turned into a puddle on the inside. It took forever for the shipping to arrive. Money was wasted in a big way. If you are looking for REAL deep drop lights, then check out diamond light products. They are not the real deal.
Since I already have several flashing LED strobes for deep dropping for swords, I wanted to make sure these were always on since it does not say that in their description, but they do work, so I gave them two stars for their disappointment.
When I was a sword fisherman I used to buy them all the time. The problem is that half of them allow water to enter. those who do make it, they never turn it There are some that will not even come on at all! Buy it at your own risk.
