How Our Score Is Calculated

Questions & Answers

In total, do you receive how many lures?

My general rule is to buy in 3's and to take pairs of rods with me when I fish. Having a spare with you can therefore save you a lot of trouble. Additionally, I have a spare tackle box at home to supplement my tackle box while I wait for my new tackle box. It's always a good idea to purchase jigs three at a time in different sizes, weights, and colors so that you're able to match the hatch, or focus on the color and size combination that the fish are biting on the best.

Do these come in numerical order (5 count) as stated in the photo?

Jigs tend to be sold as individual pieces.

What is the hook attached to these?

If you order one or two hooks, depending on the size and model, you will receive one or two hooks. As long as they are in the box, you can catch them straight away. As such, I rerig mine with heavier split rings, hooks, and 200 to 300 pound cords to prevent losing a trophy fish or expensive lure. I also use mine for bluefin tuna which score between 25 and 300 pounds in waters off southern California and northern Mexico. In addition to the top J hook, there is one Owner Ultra split ring attached at the bottom. I use size 9, 10 There are also some pre-rigged assist hooks by Mustad that come with heavy duty hooks and cord, and they also include a glow-in-the-dark/black light/uv "flash" at the point of attachment. There is an easy shortcut for anglers in need of a little extra support with their rigging skills, these are relatively pricey but they can be quite effective for deepwater or nighttime bites and can make a big difference between getting bit or not. In addition, though you might not be aware of this, when you tie your terminal leaders to these jigs, you thread them through the ring of the hook or hooks at the top of the jig, NOT through To use the two assist hooks for crimping the fluorocarbon leader to the solid ring or rings of the assist hooks, I use 200 pound test fluorocarbon. put my leaders up to be between 5 and 6 feet long and rig the rod ends with barrel swivels rated at 300 pound test or heavier. My line from the reel is tied to the swivel, usually a fluorocarbon topshot, so that I don't have to twist it.

In regard to the 40g jigs, what is the size of the hooks?

The lightest I have is an 80 gram jig and it came with a 5/0 hook. So I can't use a 40 gram jig. These are the only sizes that I have which are still in their original packaging that I was able to look up, they are 100 grams with 6/0, 130 grams with 8/0, and 260 and 280 grams with 9/0 for squish jigs. The hook of the Striper 320 gram has a 9/0 diameter, whereas the hook of the Gypsea 200 gram has a 8/0 diameter. All of the other equipment I own has been rerigged, so I am not sure of what size hook they originally As a general rule, I think most flat fall, knife, and squish jigs tend to come with relatively large hooks compared to the jig itself, although manufacturers often seem to have the balance down pretty well. Normally, I don't change hook size, and when I do it is just changing hook sizes up or down by a size or two, generally to target a specific type of fish.

Killers of the bluefin tuna
5/5

It is hard to find these jigs in stores, but they are great for killing bluefin tuna. There is a lot of success for the Nomad brand. It's important to glow at night to catch Make sure you have at least two, I bring three in several colors and sizes, and make sure you have your heavy tackle rod and reel with you. Southern California and Mexico have been fishing for bluefin tuna for decades, ranging from 25 pounds to You should never use light tackle and light line with your lures. Finally, bring an ultraviolet (black light) flashlight to re-charge your lure after each drop.

It's a great jig for catching bluefin tuna off the coast of Southern California

The jig is working well for us in Southern California on bluefin tuna, so I bought a couple.

I don't even know how long this is going to last
3/5

I haven't even fished with it for one day. The hook fell off, and the scratches are so extensive that you can't recognize it at first glance. There will never be fish to catch with this lure, so it is totally useless!.

A nomad can hit a home run, but Damien does it, too
4/5

The finish and weight are great. Add a sabiki assist hook with tensile and fish skin to give it some.

This is a high quality jig for streaking
5/5

The Streaker Jigs are good, but it would be better to buy them on sale due to their price if at MSRP.
