India is the country that makes it.

Granted, it's not a Renzetti. My flies have been tied on it for more than 50 years. It is ideal for a second vise. As long as you have a basic understanding of how to use it, it works just fine for $25.

There is a weak spot in the clamp head (where you hook the hook), but there are 3 options so as soon as the first one is worn down, I'll be able to replace it. Several parts have started falling off the vice after using it for about a month. It always happens that I end up with hair trimmings and dubbing all over my carpet, no matter how many baskets I put under my vise. In a nutshell, it's a smart choice for a budget vise. I even have the option to spin the hook (my first vise didn't allow me to hook rotate.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn it's a rotating vise. It works well at a great entry level price. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it had.

Although it does its job, the fit and finish are my only complaints. In so far as the spring clip that holds the vise head on the stem is concerned, it is essentially nonexistent. As such, I decided to change it to an A- Keeping it from Lateral movement when doing rotary is accomplished by using a clip. Besides the little brass nuts that hold the handle of the clamp, the little brass nuts broke off as well. Before clamping my hooks down, I now need to be mindful of where the screw position is on every hook. On the bottom there's a little plate that says "come in contact with us" A thread seemed to have been attached to it. In the end, it undid itself some how. I now have holes in my picnic table underside due to it.

It's simple to use and works well. The workmanship is excellent and the finish is great. There are different types of noses for different kinds of tying included in the package. It's possible I'll buy a second vice for my kids so they can have fun too.

The Jaws hold well but are difficult to release, so if you want to try one on a budget, it's worth the price. It can be very easily converted with a few modifications for use by someone who is mechanically inclined.

I have owned it for over ten years and tied many flies for my own When I travel, I will take this new one and leave my old one at home so I can leave it here and carry it when I am away. It is entirely identical to my old one, as far as I can see. Besides not having instructions for a novice who has never used a vise before, there are tutorial videos online that can help you get started. And another con is there is no manual to help beginners who have never used a vise before but expert videos on YouTube can help.
