My previous strap was threaded through the ratchet, but this one has a sewn-in loop. What's the best way to connect this end to the ratchet end of the ratchet?

On mine, the strap went through a slot, then I put a piece of cold roll through the little pocket on the strap, which catches when you start cranking, and you crank it in.

Maximum working load is described in a muddled manner

First, it says 1,500 to 8,500 lb. in the description of the strap's characteristics. It's not clear what it is (working load of 1,500 lb? max. 8. 500 lb of cargo? The breaking load is 10,000 pounds, and the safe load is 3,300 pounds, according to the pictures. I can't trust my boat to be handled by a strap whose strength I'm not sure of. I'll give it back to you.
