Questions & Answers

What is the maximum distance that a Deer can read?

It will almost certainly range deer out to 600 yards, in my opinion. If you want to be sure, you can get the owner's manual for free. This rangefinder is fantastic; I wish it had a lighted readout, but for the price, I believe it more than holds its own.

Is there a case for it?

Yes, it's a good investment. All of the batteries for the case are charged and ready to use.

Is there a way to calculate angles for shooting up and down hills with this unit?

Yes. Despite the fact that I haven't done it before,

Is this accurate down to the tenth of a yard?

That's correct. It's what I use for archery yardage. I'm not too concerned with tenths. As a result, there was never a need to double-check it.

This little range finder has a good but not perfect speed and feel to it
4/5

It's quick to update and not fussy at all. In that regard, it's really well made; however, as a glasses wearer, I have one complaint: the cup isn't adjustable, and it's designed so that your eyelashes touch the lenses. That's obviously not ideal for anyone, let alone someone who wears glasses. I can take off my glasses because the focus adjustment is sufficient, and I'm fairly blind without them, but that's not practical for hunting or shooting. It can still be worn with glasses, and I do so, but the field of view is reduced, and I have to squish it against my glasses and my glasses into my face in order for it to work. I'm thinking about chopping off the eye cup to see if that solves the problem. It's almost perfect, except for the eye relief issue.

The only thing that needs to be improved is the Sig Quality and Accuracy
4/5

Before purchasing, I read through all of the reviews. This is my first range finder, and I went with the SIG brand because of the positive reviews; the unit is simple to use and appears to be accurate (I haven't tested the long range accuracy, but the close range is spot on). br>The black recticle is difficult to read in low light, as many reviews have stated. I believe the manufacturers could easily address this issue. If you're planning a low-light hunt, you should pre-range your hunting area. br>I intend to use mine for work in bright light, so this shouldn't be a problem. br>I'd buy it again if I needed it.

It really works
5/5

So far, it appears to be working well. Up to 600 yards away, I was scouting trees and hilltops. It's disappointing to learn that it was manufactured in China.

These are excellent books to read
5/5

I've never used a range finder before and have no idea what I'm missing, so this thing is fantastic. I was able to achieve consistent, precise results - That is all that matters to me. However, I can read the numbers in low light, and I won't be hunting in the dark, so I'm fine.

It was everything I required
5/5

The Sig Kilo 1000 is the subject of this review. The optics are excellent, the readout is quick, and the display is clear and easy to read. This is ideal for calculating target distances, and you can't go wrong with SIG Sauer. br>The delivery was much quicker than expected.

WOW! This Sig replaces a 12-year-old Leupold rangefinder that cost $299
5/5

The Leupold lifetime warranty does not cover electronics, so it died. No matter what happens to it or when it happens, Sig will back it up with a warranty. br>This thing is incredible! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the optics. The objective lens is half the size of the Leupold's, but it's half as bright. It ranges things instantly, so you don't have to look for things to reflect from the rangefinder. EVERYTHING reflects in it! br>It's a compact and lightweight device. It doesn't have a lot of different reticals; instead, it only has one. If you keep your shots under 5 or 6 hundred yards, you won't need a lot of bells and whistles.

So far, everything has gone well, but there is one major flaw
4/5

So far, I'm enjoying it, but I've noticed a few strange readings - But I'm guessing it was because something was blocking the apparatus from sending or receiving data. I like how small it is, how simple it is to use, and how it compensates for angles. The only drawback is that, unlike some of the other Kilo series, it lacks a red display. It has a black screen. One of the main reasons I purchased this rangefinder was because of the Sig Sauer red readout - Bowhunters frequently encounter low-light conditions with dark backgrounds.

Quite good
4/5

I probably should have gotten the BDX version, not that I'll get a BDX scope any time soon, but it would be nice to see the difference in distance from zero right in the rangefinder, so keep that in mind when choosing- It appears to be fairly precise, as well as quick- rangefinder is a nice little thing.
