Questions & Answers

The first burner knob appears to be covered by this grease trap? If that is the case, it does not appear to be very user-friendly. ?

Lorene, I completely agree with you! The two-burner griddle's level would also be affected. In my opinion, it is a waste of money! br>I went to my truck and got a 3/4" conduit hanger, a 1/4-inch conduit hanger, and a 1/4-inch conduit hanger. A 20x3/8 screw, as well as a 1/4-inch drill bit 20 nut, and a 1/4" hole near the top of a metal coffee can (carefully drilled). My invention now hangs from the leg of my Expedition 3X. (I left just enough room to put the plastic lid on the can.) It's fantastic! Because the sizes of those hangers vary slightly by manufacturer, you may need either a 3/4" rigid or a 1" EMT size. I prefer the hanger with the thru bolt threaded on one side rather than the one with the screw and nut. It stays put, but it's also easy to take off!

What is the method of attachment? Will this work on my three-burner stove, which came with a smaller griddle?

The grease cup fits over the stove's rim (I have a two-burner stove with a rim that is slightly raised above the level of the burners)—- If your three-burner has a rim all the way around, this should fit as well. You should position it so that the grease cup is below the griddle's grease drain hole. Because the hole in my griddle is in the left front corner, I put my grease cup on the left front corner of the 2 burner. Everything is in order. By the way, you'll want to get the grease cup foil liners for easy cleanup.

I have a three-burner stove with two griddle pans, one 16" and the other 24" in diameter. Is it true that I'll need two drip cups?

I use one drip cup on a three-burner stove with a 16" x 24" griddle. Two drip cups would be required if you have two griddles with drain holes.

With one caveat, it solves a significant problem
4/5

If you've ever used a Camp Chef griddle, you're well aware of how ineffective the grease catch system is. You've come to this page because you're tired of grease dripping down your stove leg and onto the floor, or grease blowing in the wind. Get this if you're tired of that! GET THIS IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO PURCHASE A GRILL FOR THE FIRST TIME AND SAW IT AS A RECOMMENDED PRODUCT! The OEM grease catching system that comes with the griddle will annoy you to no end. br>br>With one caveat, this grease catch system accomplishes everything you desire. For my stove, I purchased the Camp Chef shelf accessory system so that I could have shelves on both sides. When you put this grease trap in place, the edge gets stuck under the screw that holds the shelf in place. This makes removing the tray without seriously disrupting the contents of the trap extremely difficult, if not impossible. This isn't a big deal if there's only a little grease in there, but if it fills up, you'll almost certainly spill a lot of grease when you remove it, negating some of its utility. I'm deducting a star because I believe Camp Chef could have made this work with their accessories. They could slightly off-set the mounting system or make the top of the lip that goes over your stove a little looser than it is now so you can maneuver around the screw.

Your can hanger should be discarded! This is the genuine article! You have no idea how many times I cursed as I stood in front of my griddle on a windy day, watching grease fall everywhere except into the trash can
5/5

We all know the can hanger is a bad design because it hangs too far below the hole, doesn't allow for larger diameter cans, and breaks far too easily. Oh, and don't forget to bring a can with you. No longer! br>br> br>br>When I first saw this grease cup, I thought to myself, "Why didn't anyone tell me about this?" "br>br>It's big, easy to clean, and it does everything a grease catcher should do. The width collects all grease that drips to the left or right of the hole, ensuring that it does not overflow. It's especially convenient because it sits so close to the griddle that wind isn't an issue. br>br>One of the complaints I heard was that the grease cup interfered with the grill's knobs. A two-burner stove is available to me. There is no problem if the griddle is set to the left burner. The cup blocks the top half of the right control knob if you want to use the griddle on the right burner. Reaching beneath the cup and adjusting the knob, on the other hand, is simple. However, the cup does become hot. br>br>I wish it came with the griddle because it's a fantastic product. It would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation in the long run.

Construction is made of heavy gauge steel
5/5

On Camp Chef outdoor stoves, it fits like a glove. I didn't expect this Grease Cup to be as sturdy and well-made as it was. constructed in the manner in which it is. Heavy- It hangs on the Camp Chef outdoor stoves like a glove and is easy to clean with a little dish soap! br>br>We use it with both of the Camp Chef griddle sizes that come with our Pro 90X three-burner stove. It also keeps the grease in the cup rather than on the burner. To prevent rust, we wipe a very thin coating of cooking oil over the entire cup, inside and out, after cleaning and drying it. br>br>This is clearly a Camp Chef winner, and I easily give it Five Stars, as well as an honest and very hearty recommendation! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes Because of the reviews claiming that it blocks the far left knob, I was hesitant to order
5/5

I adjust my knobs a lot when I cook because I'm a control freak. But I was so desperate and fed up with my current grease cup situation that I didn't mind wasting $20 on a long shot. Well, it doesn't appear to be blocking the left knob in any significant way. I'm in a great mood right now! A Pro90 stove is what I use. I put it on there and took a photo of it so anyone thinking about getting one can see how it looks on a Pro90. I wish I'd started with this grease cup. It has a large capacity for grease storage.

If you plan on using a griddle, this item is an excellent addition to any Camp Chef stove
5/5

Boy Scouting has always been a part of my life. I have two Camp Chef stoves and a second Camp Chef griddle that I recently purchased. If you plan on using a griddle, this item is an excellent addition to any Camp Chef stove. A silly, little wire basket is included with each Camp Chef stove to hold a can to catch griddle drippings. They're almost pointless. This device should be sold alongside the griddle in an ideal world. Because it isn't, you'll have to purchase it separately. Drippings from a griddle are a minor issue if the stove and griddle are set up on rocks or grass, but they become a major issue if the stove and griddle are set up on concrete or a deck surface. Even in the backcountry, camping near a spot soaked in griddle drippings can result in unwanted visitors.

This is a fantastic product at an even better price! My husband recently purchased a campchef stove and griddle top so that we can cook outside while camping, etc
5/5

, but the small oil catcher that came with it was ineffective, so we looked on Amazon and found this, which is PERFECT! Even though he has cooked for ten people on it, it works great and is large enough for the entire cooking session. The best part for me is that it can be washed in the dishwasher! So, after we dump it and wipe it down a little, we simply throw it in the dishwasher and it's good to go. We were concerned that it would rust because we use steam and dry cycles in our washer, but it has held up admirably and has yet to rust! (However, this may be a matter of time).

For a camp chef, this is the way to go! I'm not sure why Amazon wants me to give a rating to a steel drip pan's "Sheerness," but whatever
5/5

That's all there is to it, fellas. This concludes our discussion. For your camp chef, this is the best grease catch! Those cheesy griddle hangers irritate me to no end. This is high-quality, so you won't have to worry about finding a non-melting cup or can to catch half of your bacon grease while letting the other half drip down your leg while standing next to your camp chef. Purchase this guy as a favor to yourself; it will solve all of your greasy, delicious problems while cooking in the wild.
