According to the seller, the expectation is that you will clean them yourself. I mean it. When the molds are removed, it is natural and common for the plates to have a thin film of oil on them due to the manufacturing process. The rubber smell dissipates over time or after general washing, and they will also typically retain a funny appearance. I want you to be aware of A fee of $71 is charged for return shipping. One review even talked about health concerns? Based on the negative reviews, the weights claim to smell burning and have an unbearable smell? It is thanks to these reviews that I only ordered the pair of 10 and 25 lb weights before deciding to invest in With trepidation, I awaited Xmark's first shipment of plates to arrive with my old cast iron olympic plates. To my relief, the plates exceeded my expectations with no visible odor, correct weight, and a tough hard rubber exterior (not plastic). It's possible to see lines signaling the molding process of the rubber onto the metal interior plate, but they are small, suggesting the mold is tight and of high quality. Considering you're willing to spend $1 on me, this is a great deal. These olympic plates are definitely worth the 70 cents per pound.
As soon as the layer of oil or grease they arrive in has been cleaned thoroughly, the weights can be easily maneuvered. I am not sure why they had to be greased, but they were greasy, which made lifting and carrying a little strange. Normally, weights would be covered in rubber, but this set is made of rubberized poly compound that's absolutely amazing. Easily pop the weights from the top of your bench without damaging the feet or the concrete. It is quite easy to hold the weight with these holes. Despite the price I think the product is a bit expensive, I am overall quite happy with my purchase. Are there any chances that I would purchase I would consider it if I could get a decent sale price to get the set I've already bought. Will I continue to use it? I'm sure you're right. The ability to be usable as well as being a bit overpriced are not mutually exclusive.
Because of Covid- I was missing the gym very much A gym is being shut down due to the closing of 19 and 19. This was an excellent find, and I ordered them while they were still available. As far as quality is concerned, they surpass my expectations. The residue they have on them is traceable to the manufacturing process. Then I let them sit in the sun and wiped them down (which you should do anyway). It became impossible for me to detect the odor after a few days. Neither of them fit snugly on a 2" bar, which is just what I need because I do not want my weight moving around.
Weights like these make me happy! Ick) and they have a really solid and supple feel about them. Thank you for the purchase. I am very satisfied with it. In this time of pandemic, it's very inconvenient that these companies overcharge for weights. However, I understand that it is the law of supply and demand (so I won't get any additional weights until the epidemics are over) so I am aware of Even so, it's still a bummer. It is my pleasure to be able to comment on the XMark weights. I like the fact that the rings are easy to hold and manipulate, feel solid in your hand (so I don't worry about dropping them), and look attractive This is a very good product - I'm happy that I bought it It would have been regrettable if CAP weights had been implemented. It's always in my mind that I should have purchased the XMark tri-pod You need to grip them. I did notice one smell at first, like that of a mechanic's It smells like a tire. During this time, I will be in San Francisco. As soon as you unwrap them, wipe them with a damp cloth / towel to get rid of any grime. (Each weight is wrapped in a plastic sleeve, then shipped in its own box. ) If you are doing a messy job, then you should wash your hands afterward. Anyway, I highly recommend both of The decision has not been regrettable. I am in love with.
The odor of chemicals is very strong. This led to a headache and caused the house to smell. Leaving them outside for two days was not a good idea. The smell is still there. Vinegar was scrubbed on the surface. The smell is still there. The dish soap was scrubbed on it. It's still stinky out there. The room was cleaned with Mr Clean (NaOH). It's still stinky out there. As of now, I am on my third coat of varnish and the smell is not nearly as strong. Moreover, I bought rubber coated weights from another company, and so far they are also stinky Make sure that the weights you get are not rubber-coated. I really don't like it.
There's no need to fret. Xmark's here to help. It would have been impossible to purchase lifting equipment elsewhere at that time, so I bought a lot from Xmark. As the availability of bumper plates are limited in these tough times, these plates will make the cut. It is of excellent quality and I use it with an EZ Curl Bar and an Olympic Bar I also bought from them. It's great that you can hold them through the holes and do other exercises at the same time. Please do not worry about the smell, it will go away, and that is the last thing you need to worry about right now. The plates are just a matter of getting them.
I was disappointed with the size, but that was my mistake for not checking the dimensions. Overall, I think they are well made, and I expect them to hold up nicely for a long time. Exercise with bumper plates that are 17 inches long is how I've always done it. As they are only 5" in diameter, these seemed insignificant. Nonetheless, that was my fault because I didn't notice, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the work. My only disadvantage is that when they're mounted on my barbell, I have to squat very low.
There are some here I like. The plates have an outer plastic shell instead of a rubberized coating, but they function in the same way (I also own a set of Bodysolid rubber coated plates) and seem high quality (I'll let time If you'd like to go iron for less, or to use Craigslist, you could do that as well, but these are reasonable priced, good quality, and delivered directly to you.
