I'm not sure the fabric thickness matches the size of the cover. It is sturdy, but I don't think it will be large enough. Although I'm not familiar with drop cloth canvas (I lived in Mexico for 30 years), as long as it is not a lot heavier than poplin or twill, it should I highly recommend this set, especially if your handles aren't wide. Three thoughts, first, this set is fabulous and works like a charm. Sewing machines should be available to you if you sew. Secondly, if your canvas is heavy you might like to get some 3/8" or 1/2" PVC and a dowel from the hardware or lumber yard. Thirdly A while back, when I was making heavy weight handles, I folded the fabric in half, pressed the fold well, and that gave me a good view of it. In the center of both edges, fold them into the center, and top stitch along each edge. It is a quick and easy way to secure heavy fabric handles.
