The board is about the same size as a standard skateboard, measuring 29"11" long and 3/4" thick.
I don't believe that is the case. This is a really good price, especially when their 20 % off deal is in effect. Because of the layers and the way the base is, I believe you'd need the board to figure out how it's made. But, unless it's something you really want to do, I don't think the cost of materials versus labor makes it worthwhile to make your own. (I had a similar thought.)

br>I'm a 250-pound snowboarder with ten seasons of experience. This board is easy for me to use. br>We purchased it to aid in the development of our children's proprioception. br>Practicing on a carpeted floor will help you get a feel for the board, and as your skills improve, you can move on to a hardwood floor. After that, switch to a linoleum (or other smooth) floor. br>As with any new physical activity, it is important to start slowly. It takes some time to get used to. br>I've calculated the cost of these before and concluded that they'd all be too expensive, so I'd have to make my own. My wife, on the other hand, discovered this one, and I was all for it. br>Back in the 1990s, a friend of mine had one of these, which had a groove cut out in the roller and a small rail attached to the bottom of the board, as well as a rail on each end that provided a stopping point for the unit. br>There isn't a rail or a stop point on this unit. br>This reduces manufacturing complexity and unit costs. br>I prefer this one because it encourages you to keep it under CONTROL (conscious decision) and not fall off the roller.
I'm a senior who noticed that my balance and control for doing everything on my feet needed to be improved. This bulletin board is extremely beneficial. It's well-made and long-lasting, but I use it on a carpet rather than rough concrete. Working next to a counter allows me to add a little support with my hand/hands while moving the board back and forth, but only on rare occasions. Falling is a distinct possibility, but I'm improving, and my newfound confidence motivates me to keep going. I put the board near my front door as a reminder to use it. There are a lot of these items to choose from, and I'm glad I made the right decision.
I am 220 pounds, and there is no sign of bending. The width is fantastic, and you'll be amazed at how quickly you improve. If it becomes too easy, try balancing and doing as many full squats as you can.
I received this board the day before yesterday and was eager to put it to use. I used to have one of those wobble boards with the half circle on the bottom that simply rocks back and forth, but I gave it to a friend. I figured I'd be fine on this board because I was so good at the other. Nope. I couldn't stand still for more than two seconds. I tried it several times for several minutes at a time, and today I got up and tried it once more- Essentially the same. I gave it a 5-star rating. After 7 minutes, I waited about 10 minutes. 15 min. I gave it another shot, and this time I was able to stay awake for ten hours. There are 15 seconds remaining. I took a break and now I'm getting 40 second 'ride' at a time, so if it seems impossible now, it WILL get easier. Your mind is attempting to make sense of the situation.
Excellent craftsmanship. Fun. My balance is terrible, so I bought this to help me improve it while also getting a good core workout. If I had to pick a flaw, I'd say the wood stoppers on each end should be made of a different material. To avoid scratching floor surfaces, use a material such as plastic or rubber. It's also possible that a yoga mat can be used. My purchase was a great success.
The kids enjoy competing to see how long they can stay balanced on the board without it touching the ground. They could only do about 30 seconds per try for the first few days. This ey is now at 12 minutes after 9 days! Great for strengthening the entire leg, especially the inner thigh.
I'm a 200-pound guy, and this thing holds me up. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. This holds up to my 200-pound frame. The stoppers keep the board from sliding out, the roller is great, the board is nice, and you can ride it without shoes because the grip tapes aren't too rough. So far, I'm really enjoying it!.
This was purchased to aid in the development of my core as well as general balance. It's changed the way I feel about myself. This board gives you a lot of leeway when it comes to learning new tricks. I used to watch TV for hours on my couch, but now I watch TV for hours on this balance board. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I'm no longer sitting around.
