A new pair of socks measure 5 inches from the bottom of the calf to the top of the ankle. We've now washed them several times, and they're 4 1/2", and more tightly fitted. It's crazy how much they shrink! These are definitely being made with far less quality than when they used to be made. This is the last time I will purchase them.
This was the first one I purchased in January. Wearing a women's size 7, I am 174 cm tall. Five eights. Despite the snug fit, they did not feel too tight on my foot. My right calf is larger than the left calf, and the socks fit snug, but not too tight on both.
