I believe it is fine as long as it is less than 20 A.
You would have to attach it to something substantial to make sure it would work. There is a less expensive option in searching in amazon for "Sensor Liquid Plastic Floating Switch" and utilizing that to turn on a relay that turns on the pump ("12v relay 4 pin" or "12v relay pcb"). It does add a point of failure (the relay), but in my various boat projects I haven't had any trouble with similar relays or float switches, except that dirty float switches have jammed, which happens with the super switch as well.
Thank you for your inquiry, I am sorry to hear that the float switch is not working. We recommend that you contact Amazon or xyleminc.com to schedule a replacement for the 37A float switch for the warranty process. Please refer to the Rule, regards.
Thank you for your reply, Douglas. One wire is connected to the power coming into the float switch and the other wire to the wire to *br>In the booklet accompanying the float switch, you can find a wiring diagram. Please accept my sincere regards, Xylem

In spite of being an easy replacement to the one that was in there, this switch failed after just five The switch is easy to install because it can be left in place once the old mount is removed. Just clip the old switch out and the new one.
During the switch, it lasted for a year and ten As a result of removing the Mercury, reliability was also removed. It won't be too good for the environment if my boat sinks and 320 gallons of diesel fuel end up in the water,.
This type of float is better than the round cage style one because leaves, limbs, trash, etc don't get stuck under it. As I would have thought, it has to be raised higher than typical for the signal to engage As I understand it, that is the way it is.
This product (and accompanying pump) seems to fail after about a year or so, but the switch that came with it works fine. It is a replacement for a pump/switch combo in As the boat was in the water or low on water, the bilge pump wasn't working Following a few days of rain, we found high water levels in the bilge. I replace it with a new set of pump and switch (pump and switch set) and everything has been fine since then. The old set lasted 6 years, which is fine It seems to be solid performer for the time being, but I may change my mind if it fails in the near future.
Although the new style mercury-free super switch is good for the environment, it's not so good for my boat (after almost sinking). Rule switches and other tools have been used by me Since I have been using pumps for over 25 years, I can tell you that these pumps are top of the line. I had a mercury super switch that failed after over a decade of service. As of 5/10, I replaced that style with the new one. The switch went bad after only 1 year. I was on vacation out of town at the time. rain on the day I returned, and when I went into my boat I found 12+ inches of water inside. We had to switch back to the old style. When I called Rule, they were very pleasant and sent me a second switch, but said that I would need to wait 3-4 days I ordered another one from Amazon when the first one took 4 weeks to arrive. The switch so far seems to work fine, and I now have a backup switch on hand. This is an update from June 13, 2013! As I've stated, the switch I replaced failed again (of course during the heavy rains), Rule no longer includes warranty information, and I haven't been able to access it. Telephone numbers that have been disconnected and unable to be accessed online have been replaced with new ones. I am hoping that the problem has been fixed and that the switch has been upgraded.
My old mercury switch lasted umpteen years, and I bought this one to replace it. I found that this model received more positive reviews than a standard model based on what I read on the internet. It has been about a month since I dropped it into my sailboat's bilge, so I have no idea if this switch is "super". Time will tell whether it is true or not. Hopefully I can get at least a few years out of it before I have to upgrade it to a 5 star. It will have to be downgraded and I will have to find an alternative. Unfortunately there appear to be few reasonable alternatives to these not-free options. The switches are made of mercury and roller balls.
After installing the same switch to replace it, it already failed after one month. The refund will be processed as soon as possible. A different switch is being used.
This product does what it is supposed to do. This switch has a wider mounting range than a standard switch, so make sure that you have enough clearance to mount it.
