Does it need to be mounted in a spot that's dry or does it need to be waterproof?

With this switch, I am preventing my battery from going flat between uses of my boat. I found the installation quick and easy, and my switch seems to be working well. After the boat was installed I did test it out on the trailer but haven't used it. Now it seems that the battery is holding. However, the SS screws did not come with the unit, so I cannot give it a 5 star rating.
