I would like to know the diameter of the smaller round tube (the end that fits into the trailer tube) There is a difference in measurement for both answers above The diameter is 14mm and the height is 1/2in A 7mm ring). As a last resort, you can take a grinder outside. The pin hole can be drilled with a drill bit. If it needs to be modified, it can be done either way.
The Adapter attachment was used for three different brands of bike trailers, and each worked well with this attachment. I have no idea about the Copitol Model, but it was great for all three brands. As far as I know, it is a pretty standard practice.

It is worth noting that this particular Sunlite bike trailer hitch is not compatible with the Blackburn Copilot model A trailer. You need to bore out the hole where the cotter pin goes in order for it to fit. You will either need to get a smaller cotter pin, or you will need to make that yourself. Using a 5/16 inch metal drill bit, I was able to bore out the hole and it is now working You can get closer to what Blackburn is charging by using this alternative. In two minutes, I bore a hole in the board.
I am able to attach it easily to my Allen Sport trailer AST200. There's no problem at all and it's easy to switch from one bike to another when it comes to the trailer. This is a quick and easy process!.
