It is hooked up to my navigation lights, in order to light up my dash when they are on.
I had a leak, but my water was leaking. It could be an oil, a fluid, etc. As far as I know, I have never taken it during freezing conditions. Sure, the boat got hot, but hey, it's just A boat gets hot when it is out on the water. The short of it is that I wish I'd spent the money on a different depth finder for that hole instead of this one.
There is a huge problem with its size, and it may be inaccurate as well. I appreciate the price and the ability to use it as an emergency backup. Unless mounted, it is far too small and inaccurate to rely upon as a primary compass in low-light situations, unless you have mountable compass accessories beforehand. Seems to be a good product, but the design does not fit the purpose.
I found this dash pod to be perfect for my car.
