It's unlikely that it'll be used in a game. In March 2020, I purchased this item. I think I used it about 20 times. 30 times in my garage, solely as a tracer and to chrono my belongings. For the most part, it worked well; the app is responsive and well-designed. Looks great on pistols (though the extra weight on my G18c causes crazy jams due to the floating barrel mechanic) and rifles - For my m40a3, it's a little small and odd. br>br>Never got to field it, no known drops or notable damage, and it just stopped turning on in September, despite being fully charged. Based on my previous experience, I believe it would struggle to handle live game play. Now that I'm outside the return window, I'm going to disassemble it and see if I can salvage it as more than a dummy suppressor.
So, I received this product around August 10th, and I only had the chance to try it out yesterday. So I charged it up for at least 2 hours the night before (Friday 16th), went to my airsoft location, and played one match with red BBs in my Hi-Cap. It was a Capa pistol, so about 30 to 40 BBs went through it before it stopped working. The tracer BB was no longer visible. BBs continued to fire, but they were no longer traceable. Despite the fact that it was still fairly new to the market, I was disappointed with this product because I had heard some positive reviews. Acetech needs to do a better job; if I could give it zero stars, I would. I'm very upset, and it ruined my entire Airsoft Saturday as a result!.
The LT-II is what I have. The mock suppressor must be removed before any threaded attachment can be installed on the 15 rifle. If you purchase an ACETECH lighter that is shorter than the BT, you will be unable to access it once the hand guards have been installed. The orange rig had to be removed first by removing the metal pin at the bottom and heating the orange ring in hot water. The orange ring has not been threaded into the ring. After that, unscrew the hand-guard and slide it off the barrel by removing the two Allen screws on the sides of the hand-guard. To loosen the glue that holds the barrel to the mock suppressor, you'll need to use a hair dryer. The threads are a tad frayed. After you've removed the suppressor, you'll need to use a dremel tool to shorten the inner barrel. Remove the barrel from the threads by no more than 12mm. My threads were cut very close together, so I had to cut them very close together. The cut barrel must be cleaned and smoothed out. Now you can thread your Lighter BT by reinstalling the handguards. Tighty on the left. Mine appears to be in excellent condition and functions properly.
Tracer and the app that goes with it do a good job, but I can't ignore the poor build quality. When you shake the unit, it rattles, and the included 11mm thread adapter is weak and broke after only three days of use. The thin metal used in its construction can be seen in the photos attached. I'm disappointed that acetech did not consider durability when designing their product. To use this product, I'll have to spend more money on a quality thread adapter.
That may not even be enough to prevent the inevitable. I've had mine since March, but haven't put it to use in a field because everything is closed. I charged my tracer and then used it for a few shots on green and red mode, chrono tested maybe three guns, and then put it away until about a week ago when I was finally able to play somewhere and I figured it would need to be recharged before play, so I did, and then I went to try to chrono my guns again to make sure they were where they should be at, and I noticed right when I connected to my APP and synced my tracer that the green light had stopped working. I tried to reset things by turning off my bluetooth in the hopes that it was just the app's connection timeout, but NO! When I tried to turn off the tracer, it took about 30 seconds to a minute of holding down the power button, and once it did, it never turned back on! Everything is fully charged! Perhaps overcharged or undercharged, but that shouldn't be an issue. So I checked, and it would light up a red charging light but not turn on, and after about 3 days of waiting to see if it was frozen or something strange, it now won't even light up a red charging light. All of this occurred less than two weeks after I was eligible to return it. Now I'm pretty much in possession of a $100 mock suppressor. WAY MORE RELIABLE ARE MY LIGHTER S's.
This serves both purposes and is my go-to for all chronograph testing on my guns (all of my airsoft guns have threads because they use tracers). Accurate, light, and as sturdy as can be expected, with features that do exactly what they say. If you only need a tracer, the Acetech Brighter C is another excellent option that doesn't have the chronograph functionality. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative The red tracer BBs are simply awful. When comparing red to green, no matter what unit you use, they will not glow brightly. Because of physics and biology, green glowing items emit more visible light than red glowing items. I've never seen a red BB that could be compared to a green one, regardless of the tracer or system used to charge the red BB. If you notice that red does not glow as brightly as green, please do not be disappointed. It isn't the fault of the tracer unit. It's the British Broadcasting Corporation, or BB for short.
So first and foremost, I had to return for a replacement because the original was only defective in the sense that the tracers were dim compared to my other acetech 1000, but once I received the replacement, it works flawlessly and is truly just as bright, if not brighter, than my other acetech 1000, which is twice the size. The chrono feature works well and I had no expectations of it performing as a true dedicated chronograph, but it worked well and I was able to keep track of time. I haven't tried it with red tracers yet, but I'm confident it'll work fine; for the money, it's the best option. The battery life is excellent, and the weight is minimal.
Overall, it's a fantastic tracer unit.
