As others have noted, I could see that the contour of the top of the gun was not perfect. With the red dot I was able to see the sight picture. It was necessary to remove it in order to use the bead sights with some target loads. Despite four tries to loosen them, only two of the torx screws could be loosened. As a result of the first fix, the tip of the cheap wrench that came with it broke off in the screw head. I stripped the head of the screw on the second by using a hardened torx bit attached to a screwdriver. For both, I had to grind a slot into the head of the screws so that I could remove them using a flat blade screwdriver. As a result of this action, I damaged the screws and damaged the mount, but my $900 shotgun was unharmed. Changing your mount will make a difference. There's nothing good about this one. Reviews were important, and I should have paid attention to them.

Four additional long and four additional short screws come with this kit for different uses. In the original article that prompted the purchase, it was noted that the Weaver 429M would work with There are only three short screws on the V3 and one long screw on the Weaver base. It will fit but only comes with long screws and the short screws are too short to rotate the base. This base will mount a Burris Fastfire III. I got it to mount an M-A-S.
