There is a specific type of rail that must be used. In most mountings as well as the one Ruger provides with the gun, the sights will be obscured. During the mounting process, the Picatinny/M1913 rail needs to have a grove or furrow running down the middle. It will be difficult to see the folding sight without such a furrow or grove. It may help if you read that.
My wife was very happy with the sites that I bought for her 10/22, and she seems to like them more than OEM stock settings. To compare the two sites, I also fired my weapon. In my opinion, acquiring the target was much easier, as was putting rounds on target. To keep your current rear sight, I recommend you do so. This is not a bad idea. If you have to change your front sight, do not take it off. Simple and easy to understand.
Unlike many other gun sights, Williams Gun Sights are manufactured in the US!
The Ruger 10 has replacement sites for its original sites

Using the hammer/punch, I was able to slide the rear sight into the dovetail after around a millimeter or two of adjustment. Because the front sight takes a great deal more punishment, it has much tighter tolerances. Make sure the corners on the left side of the lens are taken off with a file. This will allow for an easier insertion into the dovetail and will allow you to drive it in with a hammer or punch. Further, the 10/22 sight fits into the gun on its right side (equivalent to the charging handle on the gun).
It is now clear that 10/22 is on the right track. Initially, I tried to install them myself, but I am not so competent at such work, so I sent them to my gunsmith for him to do the hammering and the (There are very simple installation instructions on the package "HIVIZ recommends securing the services of a gunsmith for this installation. " The gunsmith got the windage perfect and I got the elevation perfect after one very simple adjustment on the range. ". We couldn't believe how accurate the sights were. A red pipe was put on the front sight so that the green rear sight contrasted with the red. It is my hope that they will be equally effective.
I purchased these sights for my Ruger 10/22 Takedown since I was having difficulty seeing the front sights when there was poor lighting. It is difficult to install, but if you have the tools and are careful you can set them up easily. The sighting in distance of 50 yards was easy to achieve using high velocity rounds. As a whole, they are great at showing up and are great at In the event that my friend asked me about them, I would recommend.
The Ruger sights are terrible, and these are inexpensive sights that replace them. We had no problems getting the Ruger sights out of the rear. I had a tough time with the front one. In the end, I had to cut the sight to remove it. There was some filing that needed to be done on the new front
. It was an easy ride for the back. The rear sight on these is not very bright, which is my only complaint. Yet it is still usable for plinking, which I was hoping for. This is being used on a Ruger 1102 rifle, a 18 inch. The length of the blade is 5 inches. A perfect alignment and elevation was achieved (ok, it was a bit of a fluke). The people who are deducting stars from them because they are hard to install should learn The only thing that makes it difficult is that you must make them.
My rear sight was very dim and didn't contrast very well with the front sight when I received them today. I was greatly disappointed. As I stated it was not hard at all to take off the front sight with a brass punch and the little non-metallic tool on my lap The other day, I watched a video of a marring hammer being used Using a piece of sand paper and a block of wood, I sanded the bottom little by little until it was about 1/3 the way in, tapped it home, and then completed the viz. As a result of all the complaints about the rear one, I just left the factory one on there since it was the one that was causing problems in the front one.
As far as acquisition of sight is concerned, it's like night and day! Rugers rely on their front sight for all sighting needs, and it shudders in anything but It's great to have these sights as they are super bright in dim light as well. A plus is also the color customization option, as you can choose which color combination better suits your preference. Get rid of those old sights! Tap them out and throw them away!.
You should seek the help of a gunsmith after reading the warning on the package. When attempting to secure the sights at the end of the 10/22 takedown, I managed to scratch the stainless barrel as hard as I tried in order to avoid it, but after using a lot of oil in attempts to help hold the piece in place, I learned a very This will not negatively affect my 10/22's ability to fire or function, but it will always be a source of disgrace on one side of the gun. This is not worth your time.
For it to fit, I had to file down the dovetail in front of the sight. Use a small triangle file to do this task and apply plenty of masking tape to avoid scratching the barrel finish. They look great once they are installed. Colors can be changed on the fiber optics, which is my favorite feature. The red sight on the front and green sight on the rear are what I chose. As you can see, the red stands out much better and the contrast between the two colors makes it easy to identify.
