Questions & Answers

How much are the screws I need for this base? Are they included in my order?

The screws will come with the base if you order it from Browning.

It is the Will of God. Is it possible to mount 22 rimfire rings with this base for 3/8" or 11mm mounting rails?

Greetings, I would like to point out that my mounting fits ONLY on the original rail! There isn't a good alternative to the original rail in terms of width or 11mm width. *br>The original rail is very well engineered and not at all expensive. *br>Best regards, Nic

On the very back of the base, there is a small screw. Why is that there?

I'm glad to see you! These screws are used to make contact between the bolt and the long "cantilever" back end of the base (usually plastic) A stable base is thus provided by doing this. Make sure not to tighten it too much, just make contact. *br>I hope this helps.

According to a few of the reviews I read, when this mount is installed, the rifle can no longer be removed. This interferes with the receiver, doesn't it?

My Browning SA-300 will not be affected by it Purchased new in 2014, my rifle is in excellent condition. The setup is excellent - I'm very happy with it. Here's some information that you might find useful

It is a good one
5/5

Thank you for stopping by. A few years ago, I bought the rifle I had wanted since I was a child out of nostalgia and old age. (Semi Automatic 22). A Browning SA-22 is a semi automatic 22. John M. Forrest made this stunning piece of engineering. It is a great weapon for getting rid of varmints. Good at punching holes in paper as well. The rifle I first held in my hands when I was 8 years old has always been a favorite of mine. Any mathematician with a decent grasp on basic concepts can tell you my age. . . Rather than teaching about a rifle, I'm going to teach about mounting a scope onto it. To be more precise, how to mount a scope onto the Miroku-built After declining sales during the 1970s, Browning (and Fabrique Nationale Herstal) stopped distributing guns in Belgium. As a result of the Browning contract with Miroku, a magnificent Japanese firearm manufacturer began making the gun in 1974. A few improvements were made to the design. . . It is a small improvement but a significant improvement. Among their improvements, they moved the port for the scope mounting from a dovetail milled into the receiver to drilling two holes which were tapped onto the top and bottom of the stock. Having the up sight on the barrel is very helpful. This rifle has an easy take down system, that is, the barrel and receiver can be separated within a few seconds. By improving this, the barrel and the scope will have a tighter connection. Making sure to keep "zero" in gun terminology. The tapped holes are for a scope mount base (part number 12333 from Browning). It is cantilevered over the receiver so that it extends over it. A variety of scopes can be mounted onto the rifle with the proper eye relief for a wide variety of objectives. This base requires that one performs the flip-out from left to right while tapping out the aforementioned flip-out from right to left The iron sights are up. A gun is held to one's shoulder as if being fired. The left side corresponds to the left side in holding a rifle to one's shoulder. It will be easy to complete that task using a brass punch and a light hammer. Guns can be dangerous, so use caution whenever you use them. Keeping the sight or rifle free from misdirected hits is an important consideration in this case. It's not as simple as you think, though. The scope has just been mounted with this system, and I thought I could just find a set of rings in my gun dealer's inventory to go with it. I have not been able to use any of the rings presented to me. Even with a less than perfect solution, one might be able to live with it. A couple of the rings I tried to fit did sort of work. You are free to use it, as long as it isn't quite excellent enough and doesn't really fit. The firearm sinks my boat every time. I even brought the rifle to a big box store that specializes in guns that begin with C and conclude with In all, they went through every scope ring in their inventory. When they handed the gun back to me, they told me honestly that they didn't have anything that would work. There is a solution, however, that Browning offers. As part of the 11365 series, Browning offers a set of 1" Rimfire rings that are PERFECTLY sized to fit on bases. As the rings are milled into the base of the scope, they fit into the recesses. The solution should be perfect. There should be no fuss, no muss. I found them to be very comfortable. The bullets are made of steel alloy by Talley, a quality manufacturer under contract with There are two rings on each base. All my other attempts failed because these were the only ones that I did a good job. A matte finish is described by Browning as Matte on Amazon, but it is not accurate. There are gloss finishes that match the scope bases. This Leupold VX Freedom 2-style scope is something I would really like The matched aperture of 7 X 33 is still available, but Leupold has begun to make many of their scopes in matte finishes, to match the current fad that makes everything "tactical. " I still find it to be a good scope for this rifle and.

The dismantling of this device is prohibited

I bought a product that appears from all counts to be a Browning product, but I suspect it to be either a counterfeit or a reproduction A poorly designed part or a part that's off. With the base for the scope mounted, I couldn't disassemble the gun remotely. When installing the scope, I had to remove the barrel from the butt and file off the surfaces above the barrel joint to allow for clearance for the barrel to be twisted off when installed. This goes against what I believe that Browning did not do because he would have known what was going on. Before spraying their brand on it and selling it to customers who think they are buying a Browning- you know they tested the product design thoroughly first, then they slapped a name on it and unleashed it on them If the barrel is removed from the frame, the base and scope should remain attached. Browning authorized SA-91 targets to be screwed off with a SA-2 nut. It was a 22 case and it can fit storage that way. It made me feel headachey that I wasn't expecting.

A high level of quality
5/5

Installing them was straightforward, although you need to remove the rear sight first. They fitted the rifle perfectly and were easy to install. When you tap the rear sight with a brass punch and a light hammer, you need to be very careful. It is very close to being out of sight. When holding the rifle, put the rifle into a padded vise. There is no sign of sagging or damage on the mount. While the price might be excessive for a browning, it is a good deal.

Amount of mounting screws is missing
3/5

The mounting screws were missing from a couple of reviews I saw that others received their order but they did not receive the mounting screws. My experience was the same as yours. Trying to resolve this issue will now be fun, as I will have to work with Browning and/or Amazon. In spite of the fact that the item appears fairly well made, I cannot give it a good review for the missing accessories.

It looks good, but it makes it difficult to take the rifle down
3/5

That was a slight disappointment for a mount of the sort that costs so much. Earlier it interfered with the taking down of the rifle, since it hit the receiver when you tried to rotate the action to put things back The expensive mount is manufactured by Browning exclusively for their own guns, so its failure is unacceptable. After experiencing the first mount from Burris, I spent the rest of my savings on a superior mount from them. Take-down does not require you to remove the rear sight, and it doesn't interfere with the process of taking down the rifle.

This is the scope base of 22
3/5

Using your SA-100 would be quite effective if you wanted to mount a scope It is necessary for you to have 22. You do not need to buy the rings that come with the scope in order to use them. I have found that the rings that came with my scope work just fine without them. The price is high, but the results are good. I noticed that when I removed mine to put the stock sites back on, there were several places where the bluing had been scratched off. If you do not want the bluing to scratch, you might want to figure out how to place something between the stock and your gun.

There was no base screw on this scope base when it was delivered to us
3/5

Poor quality control and customer service. In the second delivery, the cantilever had no screws but the base screws were there. I called Browning customer care to see if they would send the screw, but they refused and told me As far as I can tell, no instructions were included, such as tips on removing the rear sight, torque specs or any other information. If I can ever figure out how to get the screws and base together at one time, it may work well. Browning's poor quality control and poor customer service is a huge disappointment and frustration.

The quality of the product is poor
3/5

It won't work with a Grade VI SA- grade if you are looking for a quality piece An SA- will be fine with it With 22 miles under its belt, it has seen a lot. The design looks cheesy and is out of place on a gorgeous Grade VI monument mounting screws were lost in the shipping box because the packaging came apart.
