I found this entire set and hockey rink in the clearance section for $25 so it was great and a steal Gift on the day of your birthday. You will enjoy it and it will stimulate your imagination. Has a referee as well. In case your kid loves hockey, and you are more interested in letting him/her play with figures rather than a video game, you might enjoy this. My only criticism is that the vinyl rink is a mat that is really cool, but it comes folded up in the box, so it needs to be flattened before play, otherwise it won't be level.

Some of the sticks are warped, and two pucks really should be included with this game. If you lose the puck, they recommend you use something similar in shape, such as a water bottle cap. In June 2010, I bought a soccer game for my 2 year old grandson, who still has all the pieces. It was very worth it to him to receive the hockey this year, and his excitement was clear when he opened them, I am sure he will take good care of them. His imagination is just for making up games, so he loves to talk to them and tell them how to play, even if they are just his rules!.
