The basket can be lowered to a maximum height of 8 feet. The bank board is a couple of inches higher than the rest of the building. The rafters must be a minimum of 10 feet in length. High. Ours are kept in a grainery that has been converted.
The information sticker is affixed to the central pole. The other two poles have a slight taper on one end and a small slot on the other. The tapered ends of the center pole are inserted into it.
$169 was the price I paid.
Sorry, it's been a long time since I bought this.

This portable hoop is fantastic that I put together. The two cap/stoppers for the base were thrown out by accident. I contacted Lifetime, and they graciously sent me a replacement set at no cost. I recommend that you read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the material list (yellow colored document) ahead of time. I put the unit together in the driveway and covered the floor with the box cover. This prevented the painted metal components from being scratched during the assembly process. br>br>For better operation and safety, I recommend the following.
1. Apply silicone lube to all of the connections after they've been put together. This will keep them running smoothly and prevent rust from forming as the paint on the moving parts wears away due to friction.
2. Before attaching the hoop height label, I wiped the area where it would be attached with rubbing alcohol. Then I pressed the label onto the shaft, making sure no air bubbles were present. To seal in the edges of the label, I applied several coats of UV resistant clear coat to the entire label area. I focused my attention on the label's edges. Due to weather and temperature extremes, the label will not fray or peel from the shaft in this manner.
3. Lifetime suggests that the base be filled with sand. This makes sense because sand is heavier than water (about 40% heavier). Moving it once it's filled with sand, on the other hand, will be difficult. Water was used in the base (to make moving and emptying easier) and spiral in-fill was used for peace of mind. The main shaft is surrounded by ground stakes with a ratchet belt. "Keeper 05400 Severe Weather Kit" is the stake set that I used. "I also added a gallon of antifreeze to keep the water from freezing and cracking the plastic base weight. ".
This is a fantastic hoops performance. Sturdy. It is extremely popular among high school students. With it, I purchased the professional assembly. EACH PENNY WAS WORTH IT. It went off without a hitch, and the timing and set communication were spot on. Thank you very much for doing so. Was extremely helpful in bringing this home and getting it up and running as quickly as possible. However, if you prefer to put it up yourself, you'll be delighted. We tied/tightened spiral dog tie out steaks on both sides of the base. When being used, it does not move at all. Even in the face of strong winds. This basketball hoop has made me very happy.
Many of the reviews on this site led me to believe that this was a far better hoop than it actually was. I knew it wasn't going to be great as soon as I lifted the backboard out of the box because the instructions were super clear and easy (it did take a couple of hours). It's not a "bad" value, but I knew it wasn't going to be great as soon as I lifted the backboard out of the box because the instructions were super clear and easy (it did take a couple of hours). The material is very light and thin. It's fine for tinkering around with (which is probably what we'll be doing the majority of the time), but it's not quite sturdy enough for serious play. If you throw the ball to the left or right of the center square on the backboard, it will fall straight down rather than bounce back to you. I suppose it'll suffice for the time being, but I'm disappointed in the end.
When it comes to assembly, take your time. I gave this a five-star rating because the final product is excellent value for money. Many reviews say it's difficult to put together, but that's true of just about every hoop you'll ever put together. I was able to put this together in about 4 hours by myself. I had to reassemble parts a few times during the 5 hour time frame. If you don't have the patience to work on a project, hire a pro to do it for you. If you're going to do it on your own, it's not a bad idea to enlist the help of a friend:.
It'll be fine. It wasn't easy to put this together. The bottom part isn't very durable. It isn't a bad piece of work. After filing the water out of the base, it's in good shape. br>br>Advantages - This is the rim to get if you want a cheap portable rim. br>br>Cons - Backboard is shatter resistant. br>br> br>br>If it's wobbly, use straps, as I did. br>Regardless of how hard you try, the rim sits a little higher than it should. br>br>It takes a long time to put it together, especially the bottom section with the wheels. I'm a carpenter, so I know how to get things done quickly. I spent about 4 to 5 hours doing this on and off.
The package arrived on time, with all of the pieces intact and no damage. My husband and I took turns putting it together, and it took us about four hours in total. It took me 5 hours to assemble everything. Different perspectives working at different times appear to have aided in the smooth operation of the project. The instructions are sufficient to complete the task. It gets heavy at the end, so someone strong or two people are required to finish it. We filled it with water and placed it in front of our house. Our child is enamored with it and frequently invites friends to play.
With the water filled in, my 200-pound husband can dangle on the hoop, so we're glad we made the right decision. Best of all, my son and husband can both play every day thanks to the easy-to-adjust height.
Because the rim does not extend far enough over the base, every time a ball goes through the rim, it hits the edge of the base (water tank) and shoots out like a pinball, requiring you to chase the ball after every basket. My kids had only been using the hoop for about a month when every nut and bolt needed tightening. The quality is extremely poor.
