Sweet Home 3D [PC Download]

Sweet Home 3D is a freeware program that is simple to use and learn. It isn't a replacement for a professional CAD program, and it doesn't do exteriors, but it does what it says it will and does it well. I say it's freeware because you can get the same program and furniture collections for free from their home website, but you'll have to download, install, and import each separately. By purchasing it from Amazon, you will receive the program as well as all available furniture collections in one installation program, as well as a small payment for the developers' efforts. If you're not sure if this is right for you, go to the Sweet Home 3D website and try it out as a Java program that runs in your browser. You can play around with it, watch the tutorials on the website, and read the instructions. to see if it's what you're looking for. br>br>Using the program, you can easily draw the walls of a floorplan and add windows and doors using a drag-and-drop method. The floor is then added, followed by the furniture. Then, for each wall, floor, and piece of furniture, choose a color. You can even include dimensions and print the entire thing as a floorplan. Switch to the 3D screen to see what it looks like when it's finished, and you'll be able to see it as if you're looking at the finished room. Each room can be walked through as if it were a real room. If you can't find what you're looking for, download the free Sketchup Make program, search the Sketchup 3D Warehouse for any 3D model, or draw your own in Sketchup (a steep learning curve, but well worth it). Then export the Sketchup model as a Collada file, which you can then import into Sweet Home 3D and use in your floorplan. br>br>Finally, I've been using Sweet Home 3D on Windows 7 for two months and have yet to experience a crash or error, so it appears to be a reliable program.

I should be able to simply tell them that my bedroom is a 10' by 10' rectangle and they should give me that. Instead, I had to take the time to double-check that it was 10 feet long. not 9'10''''''''''''''''' The corners were right angles and the height was 5 inches. THIS SHOULD BE THE STANDARD.

Years ago, I used 3D Home Architect ($90), which has a lot of the same features as this $15 program. However, before purchasing this, I experimented with a few free download programs from a variety of vendors, with prices ranging from $60 to $200. $200. This program is capable of performing basic tasks even better than the majority of more expensive programs. I was blown away by how easy it was to draw walls, add windows, doors, rooms, furniture, and so on; many of the other systems were complicated and required a steep learning curve just to draw walls. I wouldn't expect to hand over plans to a builder using this program, but it will save you thousands in architectural fees by allowing you to lay out your own floor plan. Plan first, then hand over the interior design to the architect for all of the blueprint details. I'm running Windows 7 and it's a fantastic operating system. The description of which OS versions it supports made me a little nervous, but it's a 64-bit system. Win 7 runs flawlessly on a 64-bit operating system. I haven't tried it yet on Windows 10, but I plan to do so soon.

That was a good show. It'll take some time to get used to. For many years, I taught CAD at the high school and community college levels. My expectations were too high because I had great outdated home design software from eight years ago. I was only looking for the essentials at a low cost, and I got them. Learning the program isn't easy, and there are a few annoying quirks. When right-clicking with the mouse, there isn't enough of a menu. When you draw a wall, then add a door or window, then move the wall, the doors/windows/objects remain in place, and you must move them. Maybe there's a setting somewhere that can help. There are a number of alphabetical icons on the left side of the screen that you can use to add objects. The only way to sort these is by name, not by type. Because the icons aren't very clear, and their labels have limited character, it's difficult to tell which door/window/etc. they represent. is the option you've chosen. [Doesn't the closet have bifold doors?] I expected it to be less difficult to learn than more advanced programs, but it wasn't. It's alright, a good beginning program. I was trying to save money, and I didn't need all the bells and whistles. Big program with bells and whistles to create basic floor plans with furniture, appliance, and plumbing sizes and locations, as well as get ideas for exterior and interior elevations.

I downloaded this dreadful program, which I am unable to use. I believe it was incomplete because I am unable to locate information discussed in the tutorials. Beware! Do not download this if you are not an architect. It was recommended that you purchase it from Amazon in order to receive the entire package. Only the ability to draw walls was bestowed upon me. Nothing appears when you type in "island" or "peninsula. " It's difficult to find furniture or appliances. Cabinets are difficult to come by. There isn't anything that is simple to locate. Be careful who you buy from. It's not for the faint of heart.

It's simple to use and useful for determining where windows, doors, cabinets, furniture, and appliances should be placed. All item sizes can be adjusted to see if a room is large enough; if it isn't, simply move the wall. br>Like I said, it's fairly simple to use, but it does take some practice to figure out how to adjust sizes and move items around. I believe it took me about 6 hours to become a competent beginner, followed by another 8 hours to design a very nice addition. It takes some patience, but I had a lot of fun with it. br>There doesn't appear to be an easy way to add a roof to your design, but that isn't a problem for me. I plan to present my design to an architect for feedback and ideas, as well as have a set of plans drawn up that the various contractors can use. br>This is a well-made, dependable application. There were no glitches or issues of any kind. It is strongly suggested. There is some YouTube assistance available.
