Family Tree Heritage Gold 16

I'm 79 years old and needed a basic genealogy software package to lay out about five generations of my family tree. I think I've spent at least five evening hours trying to figure out how to use this program. I couldn't find any instructions, so I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to put the tree together. It's simple to type in lists of 38 people's names and contact information, which I save, but these don't appear in the basic tree. br>I do not recommend this software, but I will not return it because it is not worth the effort; I have had to write to tech support four times to resolve four issues, and they have given me poor answers. You should not buy it.

Despite the fact that I am not particularly tech savvy, I was able to navigate this program with ease. br>It loaded without a hitch and I'm very happy with it. br>I'd been putting off upgrading because I was using Family Tree Maker on my old computer. The upgrade has made a big difference in my life. I wish I had done it years ago!.

The only issue I'm having is transferring data from my old Family Tree Maker software to the new Family Tree Heritage software. The instructions aren't exactly clear. Aside from that, I'm really looking forward to trying out this new software. I already have around 400 relatives in my tree.

It took some time for me to figure out how to navigate the software, but after a few days of practice, I was able to move around and begin building my family tree. Starting with yourself in the first blank spot, the software works backwards to your father or mother. Each relationship grows from there and begins to take shape. I'm not sure how to print a portrait-style family tree like the ones on the Family Search Org website to share with my siblings, or how to include children in the tree. I haven't contacted Tech Support yet, but I plan to do so once I'm ready to share my family tree. This software is a good place to start for those (like me) who have never worked on their family history before, and it works well with Windows 10.

It'll take some time to get used to it. For a family reunion, I'd like to be able to print out the entire tree. That's something I'm still pondering.

I used to use FamilyTree, but the current version is far too difficult to use. It is not recommended for beginners or those who are unfamiliar with the system. I would not recommend it.

I recently received my Family Tree Heritage Gold and was concerned that I was out of my depth. I'm glad I was mistaken because it's a lot of fun to play with. Although the manual is quite large, the index aids in determining what should be done. There are a few things I'm sure I'll need help with later, but so far everything has been simple, and the software arrived sooner than I expected, which was a plus. Because deleting can be disastrous, I appreciate the ability to go back in time. The software installation was straightforward and took far less time than I anticipated. I would recommend this purchase.
