American Sign Language Clip and Create 5 - ASL Clip Art CD-ROM (Windows)

This program was purchased so that I could prepare vocabulary sheets for the ASL class I am teaching over the There are three ways to do it The lack of compatibility with Windows Vista, as well as certain features of the program not working with Windows XP, results in a one star rating I try to use it on my Mac, but it does not seem to be working with Windows Vista (using Parallels). Upon installing the program, I encountered an error message instead of being able to open it. Based on my Google search, I discovered that the error message was a result of the software being too advanced for the operating system. It "mostly" works on a PC with Windows XP on which I have an older version of Firefox. As for the "Banners" section of the program, I have not been able to open it (clicking on the tab yields no results), but it really isn't necessary for me. The following is an example of how I have used ASL Clip & Shake Using the free program ifranview (available on the Internet), create the slide show. This clip & this caption are in ASL You need to create a new message, then go to the "Sign Sequence" tab and type the word you You can display 1, 4, or 9 signs per page, so I select the first option. the Browse to the directory where the bitmap images are saved by using Windows Explorer. My next step is to open ifranview and drag the first image into it (a black edit box appears). My own text can now be added to the image and the wide border can be cropped off, so I can reduce the size. I save the image in a second folder (keeping the originals intact for future use). Last but not least, I created a table in Word with 3 columns by 4 rows, where I can paste saved pictures in each cell. I love the way it looks, and it's so easy to cut and make I can also paste the images around, so for example, in the above example, when the result I wanted was "FINISH," I substituted "HERE," erasing the lines that indicated movement and adding lines and text to describe the shaking hand I desired. After a period of searching, I found the C&A for ASL As the "DONE" sign was the same as the "FINISH" sign I wanted, I did not use the saved image I had made earlier. Although I can edit the image a little in Ifranview, it is nice to know I can do so. I think the artwork is very good on the whole Even on the first day, I was satisfied with the results in terms of legibility and accuracy of the clipart. I'm still experimenting with cleaning up the images and making the lines clearer, but even for the first week, I'm satisfied with it. The materials are priced pretty cheaply, so it seems like a good option to use for ASL instructors.

Using clip art for my ASL classes is fun for me. Based on the particular topic my class is learning, I can create worksheets or games. Clip art is my favorite feature because I can use it to create worksheets or other things where I can combine the sign, the word, or the pictures to help build skills or use one at a time.

I cannot believe it. It is now my daughter's third time to order this item - Am very upset as neither copy works are in compliance with the law. The idea of using the program was to help with her student's homework in school, but it has turned out to be a terrible We don't know if these are pirated CDs or not, but the amount of money we spent is not worth it for what we received.

This is the first message on the disc that the program on it can't open because it is not Sometimes the CD does not open as it should when it is placed in the CD drive. I was so excited about creating quizzes for my students using this program. I was extremely disappointed with this product. It almost seems like some company has copied the program over and over again for the sake of mass consumption.

The IDRT company has developed ASL Clip and Create, and I want to thank it for their work. The labels and the packaging It's pretty cool how much our signing child gets to do. They are even jealous of the work I produce. If there were more ASL signs and captions in this product, it would be wonderful. Basically, I would buy it if it had faster capability, but I would still buy it as is.

Working with Deaf students in the classroom can be made easier with this tool. My students are sent signs for spelling words and new vocabulary home with these signs. I also use this as a way to encourage reading. As it does not come with any instructions, it is a bit difficult to learn how to use the program. Once you figure out how to operate it, you just need to play with it until you master As far as I can tell, there must be an easier way to use it, but I haven't found it yet. The overall impression is that the tool is helpful.
