Questions & Answers

Will these be helpful if you want to extend your Would it be possible for me to add two 20 devices subscriptions to my account. It is Norton. Are you interested in getting 30 months of service from Com?

A purchase of two subscriptions is required. Then when your current subscription is due to expire, use the first to renew/upgrade it, and keep the second subscription until the 15 months are up on your first subscription, then add it to your account. Adding both at once is not a good idea.

Do you have to provide your Social Security number for this edition?

Based on what I can see, the limited identity protection will allow you to enter a social security number for protection on the dark web. The plan hasn't been compared to actual Lock plans, so I have no idea how good it is. Not the software, but the web portal is where the social security number is entered. You do not need to enter your social security number, however.

Here is an example of how a new license is created. How will this affect existing subscriptions when you renew a subscription? Are password manager ids lost if you do this?

You are not bound to a Norton subscription if you have Vault data associated with your Norton account. Norton account users have access to these files at any time. The Norton LifeLock Team wishes you the best of luck and thanks for using the service

Are you able to use this on the PS4?

Being great at what you do.

As described, it is not how it is It should have been reserved for 15 months, but I bought it now

There was, however, only a 90 day warranty on the The Norton and Amazon tech support teams helped me get my money back, but it was a major hassle.

This is working for me, I guess
4/5

Consequently, I'm a little frugal (cheap) when it comes to certain services that I have on my home PCs and devices. The good old Microsoft Windows Defender has for years been my favorite anti-virus software, but I recently switched to Avira. It turns out that Defender or however you are calling it now isn't quite so bad as it was when it was first released. In the past few days, a friend of mine who has used Norton protection for years told me about an Amazon deal that included up to 20 devices with a Platinum package. The Norton product line has also gone through its ups and downs over the last decade, but I do believe that over the last three or four years it has actually been getting better. In the end, I took a chance and bought it because I had done some research and read some reviews from PCMag and other sources on the Internet, and yet another friend told me he'd been using it for years. The Amazon e-commerce site sent me a product activation code and I was able to sign up for Norton with no problem. Create an account with dotcom. I was able to register my keys once I had logged in. Fortunately, I have 15 months of service left, which means that I am covered until After downloading the client for PC from the online dashboard, installing it on my PC was simple. The client is installed using a 250MB package which can be downloaded from a tiny downloader that is sent to you. I have no trouble activating it now since it intelligently does it's own activation once it's installed and I don't need to log into anything with the Norton client. A device that I just activated and registered just activated on my device list. Therefore I used 4 desktop PC's and 1 laptop PC to do this. There are no issues at all. In order to be clear, I did have to log in to Norton on each PC. The installer is available on the Norton website, and after each successful activation the software automatically updates. An entry for a registered device was found in the com portal. As well as installing the desktop version on our computer, we also have the mobile version installed on our four Android phones. This is the Norton. With my old Samsung Galaxy S9, I just pointed the camera at the QR code on the com portal and it recognized it instantly. There were no issues with it registering itself in the Google Play store after it sent me a link within the Google Play Store and it installed itself. As you can see from the above screenshot, setting this up was a little more difficult as the mobile app takes you through finding the Norton 360 service and essentially allowing it access to I managed to set the VPN client to kick in automatically if you are using an open wifi network that is not encrypted, so I believe your mobile data is encrypted when you are connected to an open wifi network without encryption. We found the remaining 3 Android phones to be a bit more difficult to use. This time I did the camera trick with the QR code on my daughter's Motorola G Power and it went to the app in Chrome rather than the Play Store. My Galaxy S9 worked smoothly, so I didn't understand why the app did not work on hers. It asked me to sign in with her Google account information. Although I was unable to install Norton 3760 from the Google Play Store app, I did figure out I could install it The program asks you to either sign up and subscribe or log in to your account when first launched. It is easy to log in using my newly created Norton account. It was sufficient to activate the phone using the com account and the mobile app. It took me about ten minutes to finish the remaining two You can now sign into Norton 360 mobile app after you download it. Neither QR code nor a barcode was used. As with setting up the first three phones, the rest of them were set up the same way. You can just tell the Norton 360 mobile app to allow access to the Norton 360 service on your phone and set everything to Auto VPN by default. This is done. Therefore, the installation and set up process was easy. As I watched Live Update on the PCs update the virus definitions and patch the clients, I felt the need to do it myself. While I was playing with the VPN, I tried some stuff with it. One gigabyte of Fios is available to me. You can activate the Norton 360 client for Windows by selecting the VPN option. You just have to toggle On and it says the link is secure. The address I got from Google when I did a search for "What is my IP" was definitely different than my Verizon Fiber IP address. As a matter of fact, doing a lookup shows that the IP range I was on is within Amazon Web Services' range. I was told I was coming from Amazon when I went to speedtest. net. I was connected to a server on the west coast when I used speedtest. net. During peak hours, upstream and downstream speeds were around 300Mbps. The time seemed to have flown by pretty quickly. As I looked at the Firewall, I started to wonder whether it was working. On my PCs for various servers, I've found a few security holes in the Windows firewall. The first of these comes to mind is Filezilla, then Minecraft, then Serviio. Although I learned how or at least think I learned how to manually add custom rules to the Norton firewall, I haven't had the chance to check whether my custom ports are Despite the fact that I am not an expert, I was fairly adept at getting the Windows Firewall to allow the desired communication. My guess is that Norton Firewall will have to be re-taught. As for my son, he is absolutely adamant about me not installing it on either his desktop gaming PC or Somewhat paranoid, he fears it will break his computer systems and game servers. The Microsoft Defender that he currently uses is the standard one. I never really worked with viruses, so I never had a problem with them. It is true I do not do anything particularly risky online, although I do take extra precautions to avoid phishing emails and other situations that In spite of this, I once received an e-mail spam that had a partial password in it, and it threatened to send out pictures of me looking at unscrupulous stuff to my friends and family if I didn't pay bitcoin. I do not have a webcam pointed at me at any point in time, nor do I view such materials, but I was more concerned about the partial password in the spam. The scrupulous individual claims to have Do free AV solutions fail to catch the keylogger? That is what I was concerned about. Could you please tell me which machine has been Even if I hadn't done anything wrong, how did I end up Like I said before, I thought it might be better to spend some money rather than use a free solution. It does not mean that they are not trying to harm me just because I am paranoid. *Lastly, I have concerns regarding the renewal procedure. Therefore, you must enroll in the Auto Renewal program. As a result of a referral, I was told I must be on the lookout for an additional holiday Norton deal come Holiday season 2021. It could be an extension of the current product, a new product, or anything else. In Norton's case, I would estimate that renewal would be In either case, if I can get another holiday discount, I'll sit on the key and tell my automatic renewal to stop I'll cancel a week or two before the deadline. You can then simply enter the new key into Norton when the current license expires. Create an account with dotcom. This is a method he has used for a long time, according to a friend. He said that if you place a new license key into an existing subscription, that will destroy the existing license and end all remaining time on it thus, you will need to start a new subscription. *In these days and ages, with Google Calendar and Alexa to remind me about upcoming appointments, I am confident that I will "remember" to stop auto-renewal with the assistance of those tools. As long as auto renewal is enabled, Norton will deliver on their Antivirus promise. As I see no place to enter a key now that I am actively subscribed and auto renewal enabled, I do not see any point in doing so. My subscription might expire before I stop auto renewal, or my auto renewal may be turned off by then. In 15 months I will hopefully be able to determine how effective and valuable the product is. At the moment, I have activated nine out of twenty devices. Possibly I will update this review periodically as my devices have a chance to gestate.

This is a very good deal for Norton 360 Platinum 2021
5/5

There was no way I could resist picking this up because of its amazing using Norton, and needed to upgrade to a paid version to keep using it since Xfinity is removing free Norton for its subscribers. This was the best I could find to maintain my protection. I've been using Norton for many years, it is a very reliable program. A great set of features and a light system resource requirement make it an excellent choice.

A good security system, and all that

A price of $39 is currently available. You clearly state in the description that you will receive "a download code", "online access code", etc. Why do you think you will receive If you're on autoadjust, you'll get the following message In addition, the 10-year contract is being renewed This software is available as a version for mobile devices (i. e. The price at Norton is $99, not including tax. The company. $39 per month. It is a steal to pay 99, plus some change for tax, for 20 devices.

The Mac is in pain! I am usually aware that I am doing what I am doing as a software developer
3/5

Norton on my Mac has the feature of anti-virus, that makes me feel confident in case I do drop something. Viruses on Macs/Linux and Windows are actually less of a problem. It is a true pain to use Norton on a Mac! In my role as a developer, I use hundreds of little windows, programs, terminals, editors, etc. It is very expensive to restart a Mac at all times. Prior to installing Norton, I once continued to use my Mac for four months without restarting it. Currently, almost no one gets to the end of the This is a "crazy" pop-up that Norton pops up with Congratulations! A "You are at Risk!" message has been sent to you. I also put a great big "Fix Now!" on the side. There is no doubt that the "" button will catch your attention. Then I noticed that a random popup asked me to grant one more random access, or to install this one more thing from Norton! The Norton gang is all about gaining access to everything they can get their hands on. The only thing it asks for is "Full disk access," which no other app asks for. The thought of Norton sharing my entire life had worn me out. As a result, Norton uses plenty of memory space and definitely slows things down During a crash, the system goes down. When I work as a developer, I find myself with thousands of files in a project ("npm install" if you know) that Norton just freaks out about. Two years ago, I never had a Mac crash before I installed Norton. I now have to restart my Mac every other day, which causes some of my Docker containers to get lost! So, unless you have extra storage (RAM) to dedicate to this beast and you are comfortable with your whole life being played out on your Mac, don't do it! I have an update for you, published on It took me two days to figure out how Node was causing this error. The reason js/express would not serve files larger than 65KB over the local network was thanks to the stupid "Vulnerability Protection" feature You get 128 when you add 0 and 1. I am updating the article of June 11, 2021 according to the following It keeps prompting that "bash" wants to access the internet, no matter what I do, and even if I click "allow and remember," another prompt with the same "bash wants to access the internet" appears 5 seconds later. This is my bash script, I am familiar with it and I know I can However, Norton only seems to understand "remember" as one definition instead of the other. There's no escaping it! It hurts like Despite my best efforts, I do not know how to.

It has better protection services and a more intuitive user interface than Kaspersky
5/5

The application monitors the dark web for your personal information to find out if it has been A virtual private network is one that allows you to be online and be less vulnerable to interference. VPN is basically in a crypt tunnel over the internet. So, if you were to hack the VPN, the only way for it to work would be locally on your computer or locally at the other end and where the VPN is happening. In that it's similar to Kaspersky and has similar capabilities. One large difference between Kaspersky and Norton is that Kaspersky is untidy while Norton is tidy and concise.

Covers way more devices than I ever needed (I used the 10 devices one up to now), but you can never have too many! I thought the price difference was ridiculously low).
