No, it won't melt; we keep our bearded dragon tank at 97 degrees on the hot end, and this sits right next to the heat lamp, and we've never had a problem. This is an excellent product. Every day, our bearded dragon lies down on it to soak up the sun. The rock den does not get particularly hot, despite its proximity to the heat lamp. It simply warms up, but not hot enough to burn a bearded dragon sitting under a 97-degree heat lamp.
Yes, I never used it in my aquarium because the paint smelled so bad that I was afraid it would kill my fish.
No, I believe it is unlikely.

Doug is still a young bearded dragon, so this size rock is ideal for him. I do wish they had one that was a little bigger, because he won't be able to get under it for long. The price is a little high in my opinion. For the same quality, you can find it cheaper at any pet store.
" has been updated. ”. UPDATE: Since then, I've taken it out of my aquarium. Because it is hollow, with small holes in the bottom that allow water to enter and weigh the rock down, it is hollow. The issue is that the water has become stagnant. If the rock is removed from the tank and the water is allowed to drain, the water that comes out smells like rotten eggs. This isn't a promising omen. The anoxic condition is being created by the stagnation, and the odor of raw eggs indicates hydrogen sulfide is being produced. That is harmful to the fish. ORIGINAL: ORIGINAL: ORIGINAL: ORIGINAL: ORIGINAL: ORIGINAL: ORIGIN It has a realistic appearance. I was afraid it would be one of those black and green plastic rocks. This appears to be the same as the image. It is extremely popular among the fish.
This is perfect for my axolotl tank because it's big enough for my biggest guy and it's super cute.
Do not use in aquariums. 12/2020 UPDATE EDIT**
After using this in my freshwater planted tank, I noticed the paint had started to peel away and had to remove it. HOWEVER- As soon as I took it out of the water, I discovered that it had completely REAKED! I'm not sure why; maybe it was dirty and smelled strange, or something. But the smell was so revolting that I had to gag. br>br>I looked inside for any signs of mold but couldn't find any. (Which I expected given that there was no air inside. ) So I poured the water into my sink, but all that came out was a small amount of substrate. After that, I threw it away because it was no longer useful to me. br>br>This was a huge disappointment for me because I really liked how it looked in my tank. Is it possible that the way it smelled was my fault? Who knows? br>br> However, the paint chipping and rubbing away was sufficient for me to lower my previous rating. I'm hoping it'll be better in a dryer environment. br>br>However, I'm going to give it a two-star rating because- I was really pleased with how it turned out in my tank. One can only hope that the manufacturer will take notice of this review and make a change for consumers in the future. Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>Original Review: br>br>O br>Product is sturdy, no paint chipping (yet), and fish love it as a hiding place! For a more natural feel, I placed some real natural rocks against it. It's the perfect addition to my tank! It's a favorite of the amano shrimp, snails, kuhli loaches, and a couple of neon tetras. br>br>The two holes on the underside, each about the size of a dime, made it simple to let air out. It was as simple as turning it gently until no more bubbles escaped. br>br>As long as the paint job is in good shape and doesn't chip- This is something I would recommend to anyone interested in keeping an aquarium!.
It's a good hide for the cage's cooler end, but not so much for basking. Unfortunately, basking stones/hides made of real stone or ceramic are becoming increasingly difficult to come by. It has no thermal capacitance because it is made of resin. It isn't very good at retaining or transferring heat. It looks great as a hide at the cool end of the cage, but it's no substitute for a real basking stone under the basking lamp. For the basking end of the cage, I've discovered that it's best to simply go to LOWS or Home Depot and get some flagstone or similar. It's much cheaper and more effective to heat up uniformly under a basking lamp, and it keeps the heat all night, whereas resin decorations like this don't. That said, it's fine for a cool hide at the cage's cool end, and it looks nice.
They didn't give us any notice or anything, but they did give us a refund. That was strange. br>br>Fast forward a few weeks, and we try to "buy again"—the same item, which is now in stock. Yay! It arrived today without a hitch, but it's only half the size we required! There's no reason for it; it's simply too small for bearded dragon rock habitat. Normally, Amazon is fantastic, but something strange is happening with this company right now. br>br>All right, let's get started. You've been issued a cautionary warning. Even if it's a repurchase, always double-check the size. We can't seem to locate the "large" habitat we were looking for. I attempted to buy something. The medium size is completely useless; I'll be returning it.
I was pleased with it right out of the box | but it's even better once inside the tank! I'm going to buy some Sierra rocks to add to my landscaping in a 75 gallon container. Last I checked, there was another listing online for $10 less, so if the price is too high, check out that listing!.
