For our baby Ball Python, we went with a medium size. He's about 6 months old now, and he's only just getting started on filling it up. Having said that, I believe the large size will serve you well for a long time.
I'm not sure, but I think I read something about dementia in the description. The width of one wnd differs from the width of the other. It's in my leopard gecko tank, and he's a big fan of it.

This product, which I purchased for my axolotl a few months ago, has completely disappointed me. I gave it a quick wash and tossed it into his bag. At first, it was incredible!! My axolotl, Dragon, freaked out over this hide, and it didn't hurt him in the least if he brushed up against it. It was perfect until I took it out a month and a half later and gave it a light scrub, at which point ALL of the paint came off! I was able to remove all of the paint on it by simply brushing my hand over it with the soft side of a sponge. I'm going to toss this hide and get him a new one that doesn't flake paint and pollute the water. I'm so disappointed because it seemed perfect, and it was also the perfect size for Dragon.
Daisy, my leopard gecko, appears to enjoy it. As a result, it's a victory. It's sturdy, and it's long enough for her to curl up and fit in, or lay down with her body straight. Before putting it in her tank, there were no rough edges or anything that needed to be filed down.
We keep toads as pets, and we recently upgraded their aquarium. I knew they liked "hides" to hide under during the day and stay hidden and safe, so I looked around on the internet for one. For some reason, I had no idea that Amazon sold items like this. I should've known better, because Amazon sells almost anything! Anyway, I found the ideal little hideaway here, and it was the best price I could find in comparison to the other places I looked. br>The toads adore their little hide, and when I put them back in the aquarium after feeding them, at least two of them dive under it! They also like to sit on top of it. I love that it looks like a little log, because I want their home to feel as "homey" as possible for them, and it fits the bill perfectly.
This piece appeals to me. I went with the medium size. It is sufficiently heavy to remain in place. keeps the heat in. It appears to be the favorite piece of furniture for my gecko. It has been embellished. It appears to be attractive. However, I do have one minor concern. One that is quite large. The two end openings are where I have a minor issue. The edges of the larger hole in the middle are a little rough. So, if that's a concern, sanding them down is simple. My main problem is that I caught my gecko in the act of crawling through the smaller hole on the other side last night. Unfortunately, I became trapped. She was able to escape, but it had been a terrifying experience for her. For the gecko, it's a sad situation. us. So, if you get this, please plug the hole or make it bigger. We've had this piece for a few weeks and haven't had any problems with it. We still enjoy it, which is why we gave it four stars, but be proactive. Do not put yourself in the same situation as us.
I didn't expect it to be so small. One of the corners was shattered when it arrived. I immediately notified Amazon, and I received a replacement almost immediately. The second one arrived with a chipped corner, but I didn't bother trying to get a replacement because it was for my aquatic turtle tank and I knew he couldn't hurt himself on it. I wasn't surprised that it was lighter than I expected after reading other reviews, but when submerged, my turtle is able to move it much more than I expected. I'll have to see if this is a pro or a con as time goes on. I'm worried about the paint underneath because other customers who have used these in water have reported that it has started to flake off. I'll be on the lookout for anything suspicious. br>However, so far, everything has gone well; my turtle enjoys climbing and standing on it.
I've been fortunate in that none of the previous reviews' issues have arisen for me. When it came to purchasing this product, there were enough positive reviews to warrant giving it a try. It was not broken when it arrived, and it was well-packed. There were no sharp edges on the product I received that could scratch or cut my pet or myself. Having said that, I did scrub it down with a brush and running water when it arrived. Nothing, including the underside coating, appears to be falling off (paint or materials). Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Only time will tell how well it stands up to the test of time. I'll make the necessary changes to my review.
However, it was not the right size for me. Because of the description, I assumed it was much larger than it was. I figured I'd take a chance and give it a shot. My adult bearded dragon would have become stuck if I hadn't intervened. If he tried to hide, I was able to get a prompt refund or return the item with no hassle. My snake enjoys exploring beneath the log and out through the hole, despite the fact that she can't hide her entire body inside.
I bought two of these, and the larger top hole on both of them required a little filing. They had jagged edges that could injure my herps easily. A little on the pricey side, but then again, all herp products are. One of them is a little shaky, but it's not a big deal. Overall, my boys appear to be happy in their new digs.
