Three tanks in my terrarium have been fitted with these to hold Java Ferns and Anubias Nana Plants Each can hold up to 5 gallons, 23 gallons, In two of my tanks I have either betta or corydora catfish. As a result, I needed smooth rocks to keep them safe. The smooth surface and the fact that it's not perfectly round gives it a much more natural appearance. The stones were the size of about 3 inches for most of the stones, and there was one small stone My tanks are all of the same size, but the 8 is an excellent perspective for the sizes. These come in a 5 gallon and 23 gallon size. As they are manufactured by Fluval, I know they are aquarium safe, as opposed to river rocks from the wild (Don't want to make an error here). Six stones of different colors were sent to me. For my Betta tanks, they are the perfect size. While I had expected them to be the lighter & lighter colors as shown, the mixed color I received is even more effective than I had expected Attached you will find two photos of the ones I got.
The polish on all rocks was not complete, as some of them I thought it would be unsafe to put them in the tank, so I didn't. As a positive aspect, you gain more than you might expect.
The polish and color are great. These are absolutely wonderful and I would buy them again.
I don't think the colors on the picture are right. The gray in mine was all over. If you're looking for a weighted stone to weigh down a plastic flooring mesh, do not choose this one just because of its multi-color picture.
There was a wide range of colors available, including purple, dark green, orange, brown, and white. The stones were somewhat polished, but not too It's a pretty picture. A bag of 11 was delivered to me. I used them to weight down rhizome plants in my aquarium and they were just as effective.
