The border collie I have had surgery on had a tumor removed from his hind leg a month ago. In response to the vet's stitches, staples were used to close the wound. There were 26 staples in the gash, so it was pretty large. I kept my son wearing a cone while he was wrapped in a blanket. As I purchased this based on reviews by others, I wanted to write a review about it. A vet diagnosed our very active 8-year-old Lab with an ACL/CCL tear - she is just shy of 100 lbs. There was some sort of injury to his back right leg and he wasn't walking on it anymore. We were given an estimate of $ 3300 for surgery by our veterinarian. A plastic surgery had just been performed on his side to remove a five pound growth, so we did not want to subject him to another surgery so It would be nice to at least have some support together with rest from a brace. The option that I found came with good reviews, which was my main reason for not committing to a specialized brace just yet. The XL size was the right choice based on my measurement and reading reviews about the sizing The brace was delivered in 3 days and my good boy was able to put it on with no pain or and no problems at all. This vest is the perfect size. It slips over his leg and the velcro strap goes under his belly to catch his back. It is not too tall for his tiny led, and fits well around his leg. His needs will be met hopefully as a result. As he played with my other dog, he was hit on the nose with his nose and started limping. The attached picture shows what I mean.
