The itching will be relieved, but the mites will not be killed. You'll need something to kill the mites first; do a search on Amazon for "mite killer for dogs" and see what comes up (there are a lot of results). Kill the mites first, and the itching will stop, and your dog will heal if you take proper care of him.
I ordered the Antibacterial and Antifungal shampoo, but there is no mention of coconut in the ingredients list.
The bottle is silent on the subject.
Dandruff is caused by a fungus. Ptyriasis capitis and pityriasis sicc are the medical terms for it. Dandruff isn't the only type of skin flakes. It's most likely just dry skin if they're white. If the flakes are yellow in color, they are dandruff, which will require antifungal treatment. So, no, it's not a dandruff overkill. It's just what the doctor ordered.

This is the first time I've used it to give my dog a bath, and it's fantastic. My poor dog suffers from a long-term yeast infection that quickly spreads throughout his body. I've tried a number of antifungal and antibacterial shampoos that worked but left his fur feeling rough and unhealthy. br>br>This stuff had the exact opposite effect: the redness and dry patches disappeared about 6 hours after the bath. Second, he has a fantastic scent to him. This stuff really works to get rid of yeast odors. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, he is incredibly soft. Since he was a puppy, I haven't felt his fur like this. br>br>I'll update my review in a week or so once I have more information about the yeast infection, but so far it appears to be very promising.
It was only yesterday that I received it and washed the dog for the first time. I'm amazed at how much her yeast infection scabs on her back have improved today. It could be that it removes scabs and soothes irritated skin. This product comes highly recommended for a quick and painless treatment. I purchased a treatment spray that contained some of the same ingredients as the shampoo, but it appears that I will not require it.
This is what I'm using on my PitBull to get rid of yeast skin infections. I don't like that it has to be on for 15 minutes, but my dog is a good boy.
I was always annoyed by the large amounts of shampoo that were required but only produced a moderate amount of lather. My 120-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback produced a large sudsy froth from head to tail after a few nickel-sized dabs of this product were applied. The scent is pleasant, but the best part is that her coat has become softer and more lustrous, as even a neighbor has noted. My first impression is that this is something that everyone should buy. br>I'll give you an update if there are any medical issues, but I think this shampoo will be a permanent fixture in this house. br>Thank you for creating such a fantastic product.
My 42-pound chow/collie mix has had bad skin reactions after baths for the past six months. I was still stumped after multiple visits to the veterinarian. It wasn't a specific shampoo reaction, fleas, or anything like that. His back and sides would break out in pustules. It's been two days since he took a bath with this product, and (fingers crossed) he hasn't developed any skin infections! I'll keep you updated if anything changes, but for now, I'm grateful to this company for saving my son from painful infections!.
Introducing our English Bulldog - They have a reputation for having skin problems - We bought this shampoo for his baths after taking him to the vet because he had a bacterial infection on his tummy. It really helped to soothe and clear up his skin while the medications he was taking worked on the inside! His coat was soft and smelled great, and you only have to leave it on for ten minutes. Allow 15 minutes after application for the active ingredients to take effect. His skin looked 100% better after a couple of good long baths. It was unquestionably a better deal than the vet's offer. If you have a pet with sensitive skin or other dermatological issues, you should definitely keep this on hand!.
Omg, not only does it smell amazing, but it's also helped my fur babies' skin tremendously, from one rescue that was just itchy to another that was missing hair, smelled terrible, and had extremely flaky skin. Thanks to this wonderful shampoo, he is almost completely healed and his hair is regrowing. Photos from the beginning to the end.
I've tried other shampoos, but they haven't helped her with her pink, itchy skin. I'm not sure what my baby girl is allergic to, but I'm pretty sure it's not food. I give her half raw (Northwest Naturals) and half minimally processed dry food (Orijen). I tried a lot of different foods when I first got her, but now that I've had her for almost two years, she only has problems in the early spring and summer. During this time, I bathe her twice a week, which seems to be helping. She no longer gets rashes or bumps, but her poor little skin remains pink and warm the majority of the time, and I've started giving her hemp oil once a day with her meals. I've taken her to the vet twice before and both times she was given a shot that didn't help much and resulted in a $100 vet bill; I refuse to give her the apoquel because of the potential side effects. I guess I'll just keep experimenting with different shampoos in the hopes of finding one that works in the end.
