Our 2 guinea pigs can be housed in any number of large cages with the pieces provided in this cage kit. Parts of this kit can be assembled by anyone. Lightweight and easily adjustable, this cage is ideal for any child. An item like this would have been better off as a shelf unit, or several shelf units would have been required to achieve what this kit can. There are even zip ties as well as a self adhesive non-stick disc The pads will prevent slips. As well as the mallet, there is a small one. A coroplast sheet was bought at Lowes so we could make a solid floor for an upper level in a moisture resistant tray that would fit in the bottom. Considering the total cost, it's still well below the cost of a standard sized cage sold at pet shops. Furthermore, we are able to modify its shape and dimensions whenever we want easily and quickly. In contrast, a manufactured cage does not have this problem.

No need to use a hammer. The new puppy's new set of 11 squares with 24 connectors and a gate is different than what I bought. There is no longer a listing for them, so I wanted to buy another set. This set is to add to my existing larger set because I didn't have enough space. A gate is not part of this set. The other set I had had 2 connectors for every panel, so I assumed this set would also have 2 connectors. There are 36 panels with only 40 connectors, but there are 36 panels. It would have been nice to have a larger play area on one level, There will be enough room for a two level cage if that's all you need. For the 40 connectors, there were only 12 rubber stickers. It would be nice if there were Floors are protected by the rubber stickers. In this set, a nice mini hammer is included, but it isn't really necessary. There were a few pieces that had the wire loose, but we had extra left over so it didn't matter to us. I was impressed by how well the connectors were maintained. They were all in good condition. We are very satisfied with our overall experience.
