The 50 lb border collie I have is rescued from the shelter and the 85 lb Belgian malinois is now my pet. Despite the strength of the dogs, the leash and handle are durable and strong enough to stand up to their strength. There was a concern that the combined strength of the two dogs might be too much for a leash to handle. In the end, it turns out that the pull on my arm is greatly diminished by the resistance of each dog against the other. There is no chance that they will unite against me unless they decide so. In most cases, they want to go in a different direction. When they are pulling against each other, it is easier to control than when I am pulling both my arms at once. A disadvantage of this is when one dog is moving behind another the leash gets caught under the tail. When you remember to lift the leash up before they switch sides, you can prevent this from happening with the middle handle. I would have preferred the upper section to be longer and the lower section to be shorter, especially the distance between the main and secondary handles. It also works well as a poop bag holder.

I wish I had discovered it sooner because it ended up costing me far more than this package alone. One review indicated the buckle eventually gave under the force of a strong dog pulling, and it is likely to do so. The buckle is made of plastic and I think it will break sooner or later. However, for less than $30 and everything else that comes with it, I think it is a good buy. While I was worried about the bungy leash, I am really enjoying this one since the short leash part gives about 18 inches so I will not have to bend down to hold the second handle when I want my dog to stay close as other leashes have the second handle at the end. I like the bungy part of the leash because my dog doesn't pull too hard on my waist or arm when he pulls so that's great.
