The leash is likely too long and it would not keep the dogs secure if it were attached to a seatbelt. I've never tried it with a seatbelt. I don't think it'll work very well.
I added the elastic play and the hook to make 16 inches. I am able to use it with both my schnauzer and my The Yorkie I own is not mine. She found the weight too much for her body. We are trying to lead the blind poodle with the schnauzer.
The distance between the sides is about 2 ft
My belief is that it is. Although I have never done it myself, I cannot think of any reason why it would not be beneficial

There is a little stretch in there, so it is agile enough to absorb any pulls that your dogs and arms are faced with. As you can't trip on two leashes that tangle around each other, the system is a great safety feature. Changing leashes from one hand to another is a thing of the past! It is only when one of the dogs goes under the other that I have an issue. To make that happen, I have to get to work! This is a must-have item for any dog owner who has two.

I find it a little heavier than usual for small dogs, but the handles swivel perfectly. The price attracted me. I modified the product by taking the elastic out and cutting the sides six inches shorter, so it is lighter for my 16lb. You can find them in As we live in a very small community with very small yards, the dogs enjoy exploring more when on a leash that is sturdy and retractable. There is no need for me to worry about them going the opposite way. On a normal day, the dogs are on smaller leads, but once a day they get more time to explore.

The dogs weigh 8 lbs and 20 lbs each, so I have three in total. The leash is just light weight enough that it works perfectly for the small puppies. I was worried it would be too heavy for them. Neither of my pups is strong enough to engage the bungy part of the leash, but I think this is a great feature for stronger pups. They are close together but going potty seems to work just fine and there are no tangles to worry about.

That was a great help!.

When I tried to add the second dog to the splitter, I could not open it, but a neighbor saw me arguing and yelling at it, and was able to get it working by using some WD-40. I just wanted to let you know that it works great other than the initial issue with walking two dogs on the same lead.

As far as durability and sturdiness go, the leash seems excellent. Dogs seem to be able to walk with it without any problems after they get used to it. There are a few snags, though, when one dog wants to "go" as well. There's no way to work with the other dog! I love it! It works with a 26' Flexi Giant dog leash and I don't have any issues with entanglements.
The length of each strap coupled with the bungee provides plenty of seperation otherwise.

I walk my dogs without having to worry about them getting tangled up thanks to this sturdy, well made leash. The only problem is that it is WAY too heavy for dogs of smaller to medium sizes. Initially I ordered a taglory double dog leash, but I switched to a rope-like taglory double dog leash and I am much more satisfied. My Maltese/Yorkie mix is about the size of a large puppy (11 to 15 lbs) and also has.

This is a double leash that is sturdy. Both my dogs are very hyper (one small and one large large) and even though they sometimes get tangled up when we walk they are learning how to go under each other and around each other to get unstangled. There are still times when I have to stop them and help them, but it is a relatively small task.
