For my 15-pound kitties, this is a near-perfect carrier. I was debating whether or not to buy the more expensive sleep good, but I decided to give this a shot first, and I'm glad I did; I'll be keeping both the green and grey carriers I purchased! These are so nice that even the vet has complimented them. PROS: br>br> The shape is far better than the traditional long rectangle that most carriers are, giving cats more room to stand and turn comfortably. br>br>There is just enough mesh to allow them to look around without feeling insecure. Humans will find the carrier handle to be well-padded and comfortable to use. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. For several weeks, there was a lot of off gassing. I removed mine from the plastic and placed them outside for a few weeks, but they still have a chemical odor. br>br>The carrier's floor lacks firm support; this isn't a deal breaker, but it would be better if there was firmer support, as well as a plusher floor piece.
The top can then be flipped over the body and zippity-zappity-zappity-zappity-zappity-zap dah before the cat becomes panicked and tries to flee. It arrived a few days ago, and I sprayed it with catnip before allowing my cats to explore and sleep in it. Today was the first time I had to use it, and it went off without a hitch. The only issue is that it specifies a weight limit of up to 25 pounds - My heaviest cat (the one I had to get it for) weighed in at 18 pounds and fit perfectly. I wouldn't get it for a very large cat because it barely fit the 15 pound baby. Because the bottom is firm, the cat does not "sling" when being carried. As long as the size issue is considered, this is a fantastic purchase.
Because it lacked locking zippers, it was not at the top of my priority list. It appealed to me because it did not have all of the sides open. With all sides open, most cats don't want to feel exposed. 5is had just the right amount of openings for kitty to look out while remaining safe. br>br>The green color is lovely, and the material is of excellent quality. I really like the handle design and how it is integrated into the carrier rather than being an add-on. There was no discernible odor, unlike some others, so there was no need to air out. The only thing I would have requested was a thicker/fluffier insert for kitty to lay on.
If I get another dachshund, there'll be plenty of room in the house. Although the bottom insert is cushioned, I'll still put a blanket in there to keep his head warm. If you want to carry him out or in, it opens from the top, but there is also a ventilated opening in the front for him to walk through. This carrier will also serve as a car seat for me. It was kept in place by the seat belt, and he seemed to enjoy his ride. I'll be taking him into stores and places of business with me in this carrier. It has only recently arrived, but it appears to be very durable. If it isn't, I'll let you know.
I'm so disappointed. Although this green carrier is attractive, does it "fit a large cat"? I don't believe so. My cat, who weighs 7 pounds, is barely able to fit into this. Very let down.
Every. Single. I put him in the halinfer Pet Carrier for Large Cats and Small Dog carrier using the top opening and he didn t resist. I closed the lid and zipped it up He was also very relaxed during the ride. It made a huge difference for me to be able to sit up and not be crammed into a small (short) space. It's also a breeze to transport. br>br> The carrier's frame is sturdy, so it doesn't bend or feel flimsy, which I believe helped to calm my cat. It's nicely constructed. My purchase was a great success!.
Avoid this carrier at all costs! I'd zipped it up and stuffed my cat inside. I went for a 5-minute walk away, and when I returned, my cat was standing next to this useless carrier. The zipper had broken down! It was fortunate that it happened while I was still at home and not out and about; otherwise, the consequences could have been disastrous!.
It was smaller than I had anticipated. Buddy is 11 pounds, short, and has teeny legs, so he can't stand up straight when the bag is closed. We only use it for short distances, so he doesn't spend much time in there; instead, he sits like a loaf of bread and gives me a lecture! I'd never take him on a long trip or leave him in this carrier for an extended period of time, but it's ideal for vet visits and vaccination clinics. With the zip top, it's much easier for the tech to get to him and administer shots than with big bulky plastic front load carriers, where they have to pull the resistant/struggling/stressed cat out, keep a grip so it doesn't run away, and then force the now PO cat back in. br>Nice and practical for short trips, ideal for kittens and small cats! But not for adult cats that are large or even average in size.
