While I knew my filter needed to be replaced, I didn't know that it was the cause of my cloudy pool and debris pile-up. In the first week after installation my pool was crystal clear, and recently it has continued to be so. My plan is to continue buying this as long as it is still.
Although it seems to have little effect on the performance, it is nevertheless disappointing. The very first time I put the new filter in I experienced much higher water pressure coming from my pump, therefore I gave it a 5 star rating. The second time I bought this filter, and I was pleased with it again this time. I have had the old filter for 3 seasons now, so it lasts a long time. I just got a new one so I can clean and utilize both.
There was a cheaper filter last year that I bought that claimed to fit this filter, but I didn't buy it. Not at all. There was always a plastic cone in the top of the filter house lid that got stuck in it and came out whenever I used it. There's garbage everywhere. This year, I purchased a new Pleatco as I was getting dark with the old ones from 2 and 3 years ago. My old cheapo didn't fit right. I tossed it. Afterward, I bought this cleaner to go with the old Pleatco. When I cleaned one, I found the bucket full of black water. However, the filter did not appear to be that white. I think I'm going to be able to get another year or two from my old ones. Make sure you invest a little more money in something that is made well, works correctly, and is appropriate for.
