A refund was not provided by Intheswim for the returned items. The update is A return was approved by InTheSwim the item was returned with their label, but after three weeks the refund has not been processed. Initially, the product was working fine, but the top blew off after two days. In the past few years, price has risen while quality has declined. I am still waiting to hear what Intheswim (the store that sold the pool) will do in order to restore the pool's service. Thank goodness I had the old one, or else the pool would have been out of commission. I will update when I can.

Purchasing this cartridge from Amazon was a replacement for the one we already had. We use two chlorine tabs in a floater twice a week in our Florida pool to keep the water crystal clear! In addition to adding Pool Perfect every two weeks, our pool installer also adds it to the water. It is important to note that we do NOT use liquid chlorine. After the freeze, my old one broke. I had to replace it. Replacing it was easy and I received it quickly. Orings on it are a little too big and keep popping out when I tighten them.
