For the past three years, I've had this as my first filter for all water entering my house. As far as performance is concerned, it is good. It has never even occurred to me to clean the downstream screens of shower heads or faucets. This is changed every six months for me. Here's one thing to remember It is a good idea to use silicone grease every time you change the filter to lubricate the gasket. It had been a while since I had taken advantage of it and my last filter change had a leak I could not Despite the numerous previous filter changes, there was no problem for me. To apply the silicone grease, I got some silicon grease (my client recommended it). That is the end of the problem. This filter is highly recommended.
